My first and probably my last post, I have been reading this forum since the Tomkins Incident.

I am from St Helens and a Saints fan, so I wanted to see what the reaction was from the Wigan fans.

I hate to do this, but I am very impressed by the Wigan fans attitude and intolerance of his behaviour. He actually got more support on redvee than he did on here.

From a die hard Saints fan I congratulate you as fans, and the decisions made eventually by the club, well done.

Its fine, our club is being run second rate allowing culture like this to happen whilst our signings will continue to be piss poor.

Enjoy the double this year, and Ben Barba and the other class signings you will have.

Pendulum is with you, for now. Sadly. Perhaps, the way it should be

I am a Saints supporter have been for many years, and before you Wiganers start,i am not one of the gloaters re/your latest fiasco as I have many friends living in Wigan.
I enjoy the banter with Wiganers everywhere I go --this episode must be really annoying for some--lets hope its all sorted and get back to reality-good luck for the rest of the season.

Not unusual anymore as information and relevant stories coming officially from the club always take 4 weeks or more (depending if bribes are involved or not)
It’s not been announced by another club.
Tim Sheens on Joel Tomkins signing for Hull KR

The Robins have agreed a deal with the second-rower from Wigan Warriors.

Hull KR coach Tim Sheens confirmed the club are in talks to sign Joel Tomkins from Wigan Warriors.

Though paperwork has not been finalised, Tomkins has agreed to join the Red and Whites following a turbulent period at Wigan, where he was suspended for four weeks and fined £10,000 following a video which showed the second-rower being verbally abusive and physically confrontational to a barmaid.

A fresh start at KCOM Craven Park is being eyed by Tomkins with Rovers happy that the well-documented incident was a one-off.

The Mail understands the deal will be tied up over the weekend, with Tomkins expected to start training on Monday morning in preparation for his KR debut at Castleford Tigers next Sunday.

Although not wanting to expand on reports widely circulated prior to Rovers’ 26-4 defeat at St Helens, the Robins boss says talks are continuing.

When asked post-match about the Tomkins acquisition, Sheens said: “There’s been no signing – he’s in negotiations with the club but nothing has been finalised.”

With Kieren Moss leaving the club on a season-long loan to Halifax earlier this week, Sheens was asked if he expected more ins and outs to be confirmed before the end of the season and his reply was a succinct “Yes.”

When pressed on the matter if that meant immediate business, again the KR coach replied short and sweet - “Possibly.”

Whenever he's being interviewed, Tim Sheens always gives the impression that he regards his spell at HKR (and England?) as virtually a prison sentence that he has to stoically endure until he's allowed back to the golden pastures of Australia!

Well, I don't know what Hull KR fans think, but if he was the coach of my team, I'd be driving him to the airport.

It’s now official from the club! Two days later than elsewhere ????
Joel Tomkins has today departed Wigan Warriors in an agreement reached by mutual consent.

Executive Director Kris Radlinski said:

“Everybody is aware of the incident that took place a few weeks ago. Since Joel’s suspension, conversations have taken place surrounding his long-term future at the Club. Joel made a very remorseful statement and the discussions that have taken place since echo that.

“The images on that video will haunt Joel for a long time but we can’t let that moment of madness detract from what a fantastic career he has had at the Club. I want people to remember his amazing Challenge Cup Final try in 2011 in the same way we still remember Martin Offiah’s 1994 try against Leeds.

“Everyone has commented on the video but the hardest thing for me is that the video is not a true reflection of the man I know. After the video had emerged, he sent me a message apologising for the position that he put me in and said that whatever I decided, our friendship would remain intact.

“Joel is a good guy and somebody I care about. This has been a really difficult situation for all people concerned. Now it is time to move on. We thank Joel and wish him well with his future endeavours.”
