Unconventional but I'm really pleased. Well done Lenegan.

Its more with Lam what can we expect if a team come knocking for you on a interim basis are you going to 100% into it?

I have no doubt Edwards has done well at wasp but i find it strange that thats his only head coach job? If he comes and it goes wrong it will just be the jobs for the lads story again?

Im not old enough to have watched edwards play so despite me being aware of his calibre and having seem some important matches and youtube clips im looking at this without the sense of awe or prodical son view some others may be.
I can't see why Lam would accept the job if he was not 100% into it and the arrangement.

As to not having seen Edwards what you miss by that is not having witnessed the absolute complete and utter dedication and determination that was the cornerstone of his game. I think it is these qualities that has those of us who did watch him so pleased he is coming back. You could argue Wane is equally determined but I think the difference is Wane is passionate whereas Edwards is ruthless in the pursuit of success. He will not leave any stone unturned to become a top coach IMO.

Looks like this website is creaking under the weight of anticipation!

I think this is the start of some exciting times, which let's face it, is what we badly need.

Don't worry about Edwards long spell out of the game. Its not like he's a brain surgeon coming out of retirement, he is as much a perfectionist as ever, and will no doubt get right up to speed with the sports science if he's not their already.

Main excitement for me is having two former playmakers in the job. Should mean the end of headless chickens and "yed down and thrutch".

Just have to worry about the playing personnel...

Why only 1 year for Lam?

There are a lot of good understudies around the world and we pick one who has not been in our sport for many years. Not only is that a bad move but they put a potentially good coach in LAM in for 1 year. I have read on here and agree what happens if LAM does really well? What happens then when they bring in this fresh coach to OUR game of rugby league who has no proven record in our game into the mix, how is that going to pan out?

For crying out loud what are we doing?
Spot on,it just does not make sense

Yes, this, and the fact that surely Edwards would not have come had he not been promised that he can assemble a quality squad.

And, beyond Wigan, this high-profile move is great news for the sport in general in England.

As stated earlier I am over the moon with this announcement but I'm a bit disgusted that the club insult our intelligence by announcing this hours after the bad news of Bateman leaving.

Do they think we are idiots and not realise they are conning us? It's not the first time either they have announced bad news closely followed by the good stuff.

What happens if we win the lot next year?
Well I for one will be ecstatic and it'll give Edwards an even bigger challenge which I'm sure he'll relish.

How long do you think Holbrook will be here?

They do it all the time. I suppose they think they are being clever but they aren't really. The only people they are fooling is themselves.

On this occasion though the "good news" is so good for many it has probably worked!

Absolutely tremendous news. It’s been a long time coming but now worth the wait. It must go that Lam & Edwards will be in constant touch from here on. And he’ll watch and analyse every game from here. Shaun will give Super League a boost, he’s now got a worldwide profile, and is an out and out winner. Can’t see him having any favourites or best mates. He’ll attract players too. And if Hardaker thinks he’ll get away with anything........ Some excitement at last- just need some players now!!
