Then again sky say it, coaches say it clubs say it. When the people involved treat SL as second rate why should players be any different?
Or maybe they just watch the NRL on their telly and make their own mind up? I know I do.
I disagree, if you bring them up with the mentality that playing for there local RL team is a honour they will show more commitment.

Putting on the cherry and white should be seen as pinical of your career. (Or the equivilent for other teams) thats the only way our game will improve if the player dont all just run off at the first opp.

During Friday's game he created visions of Saints and Wigan legend Garry Connely for me. Very satisfying!

Its tricky to fight against the amount of money in the game in the NRL. The salaries are higher over there at the moment, so no matter how much honour there is you're only going to be able to keep a couple of star players and create a wage discrepancy in the squad at the same time. Unless you have a billionaire owner and no salary cap that is.

I'm not saying Wigan youngsters shouldn't regard playing for the Warriors as an honour, and I'm sure most of them do. What I am saying is that you only have to watch them side by side to see that the NRL is generally played at a way higher than the vast majority of SL games. Surely you don't dispute that?

Its the refereeing that needs to catch up to the NRL more than the players

I don't disagree with the quality, just that the mindset of the NRL is my goal needs to be stamped out.

I also have a slight conspiracy theory that NRL streamed games are slightly sped up for TV.

It looks quicker than the internationals and it also looks quicker than when they play the WCC.

Its more than just the quality and money of the comp though isnt it.

I know several friends who wanted to live in Oz for a year especially in their early 20's so imagine your young and relatively free of responsibility and someone comes to you and says "the job you're doing now? how would you like to do it in Australia for more money and get more respect for what you do"

its a bit of a no brainer the "it should be an honour to play for wigan" thing can only take you so far

I watched the Catalans game last night and was wondering if people watching RL for the first time and seeing a player deliberately pass the ball on a player lying on the ground to gain a penalty would be the last time they ever watched a match. In the NRL they play on and ignore it we need to learn a lesson its PATHETIC
