Re: Ratchford / Charnley
Why do so many of us on here think French will leave end of this season?
To me he isn't yet back to full match fitness and I'm looking forward to him being wing to Kai at centre. I think those two could be quite devastating as well as entertaining.
As for Josh back to Wigan, I think he'd do well here 2023 especially if, again, he has Kai as his centre.
That leaves us two problems. First, trying to keep Kai as it's far, far too early in his career for him to play NRL. Some of their outside backs and backrowers are absolutely huge and some degree faster than Kai. He needs to take a hard look at himself and where he is in his first grade career.
Second is if Kai leaves replacing him with a top quality centre. That will be some ask.

Not sure Josh is the answer to Bibby's departure. He's mainly (almost always) playing centre for us and I think Josh's centre days are long behind him. I guess if French left Josh would be a good option on the wing to replace him. Maybe Halsall to the centres. I'd prefer an actual experienced centre to be brought in though.

Is French unsettled? I for one would be gutted if he went!
I don't see Kai as a centre, think he's well suited in the back row, has superb hands and pace!
Regardless, if Bibby goes or stays (and nothing to do with Zak gone), we need to sign a specialist centre. Problem with Bibby is, it seems like he plays centre or wing as required. We need a Connolly, Carmont established proven centre. Thornley has proved me wrong I must admit, was very skeptical when he resigned.

Yes, he is but he was end of 2022 then re-signed. Why won't he re-sign again for us?Dreamteam wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 8:33 pmWiganer Ted wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 8:14 pm Why do so many of us on here think French will leave end of this season?

Sorry, meant OOC 2021 and he re-signed.
Re: Ratchford / Charnley

I wouldn’t expect him to commit to playing out of position for another 2 years and with what’s happened with his mum you’d expect him to go back home where his family is. Unpopular but I wouldn’t be against him going. He’s on big money and we could use it to reinvest in an actual centre and winterWiganer Ted wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 8:54 pmYes, he is but he was end of 2022 then re-signed. Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Ratchford / Charnley
Respective to how much we are spending on the cap he is one of our highest earners I should say. I wouldn’t be against letting him go for a quality winger and centrejosie andrews wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 9:42 pmHow do you know he’s on big money?Dreamteam wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 9:23 pm
