There is no excuse only poor management, the likes of Burgess when it was obvious he wasn’t full fit. Overseas players like Mago, Cust, Ellis no way Maurice Lindsay would even have looked at them. The list goes on Thornley and Hampshire why bring them back both had bad injuries. French and Field great individual runners of the ball but player makers they are not. They are too similar and we are struggling to get them in the same team.

Rumours have it we are now at centre who again has injury issues, will we ever learn?

Rant over back to supporting the lads tomorrow no matter what the result.
Thank you for liking me, much appreciated 😊 you’re in a small minority & a unique group 😂😂

I know what you’re saying re signing players Willy nilly & injured players too, Burgess! It showed he was injured that very first game!

Sometimes I feel we tend to change how some of these players actually play & this causes us sometimes to be too structured & mediocre instead of playing off the cuff & what’s in front of them 😊

Mago, O’Neill, Smith, Cust & some others all seem to be playing different this year

Why? What’s the point of going to, participate in or watch something if you aren’t enjoying it?

Then do nothing but moan about it.

I just don’t see the point. I wouldn’t want the stress it causes. I have enough stress with what’s happening in the news etc I’m forever screaming at the tele 😂

Isnt the highs lows joys and stress what make rugby? Doesnt mean they dont enjoy it? Im not happy atm watching a ref destroy a team by giving endless 6 agains, a massive forward pass and a soft sending off.Saints get a very lot if 50/50 decisions especially with this nob reffing

That’s my biggest bugbear!

Stephen has been out watching the rugby & the first thing he said was "I’ve never known a ref be as biased as that guy today!”

I told him it was him last week against us! 60 minutes all Saints, last 20 when the game has gone started to give us penalties. Same today!

In the first half there were four 6-agains. That doesn't seem excessive to me.

No it wasn’t excessive Moto but the game was still close at half time even allowing for welsbys forward pass to Hurrell which never got mentioned, but the sending off at half time was ridiculous, I’m not defending swearing at the ref but to show a yellow so quickly followed by a red at half time was a joke, what happened to common sense ? I’m sure it wouldn’t have happened the other way

It's everyone to their own I suppose.

We have armchair coaches, "not the Wigan way" critics, Powell haters, keyboard warriors, and many more (including Meds - in a class of his own  ).

We came back from holiday to Leeds Bradford airport the week after we'd beaten Leeds in the cup. Got a bus into Leeds and headed for the Morley bus stop.
Then I saw Andy - a Rhinos fan. I immediately knew what was coming. In the few minutes before the bus arrived he gave me every detail of every one of the 37 refereeing mistakes - all against Leeds of course.

I don't go to watch referees. I go to support my team whatever the result, and sometimes accept that the coach knows more than I do. But, hey, everyone to their own.

I hope we take some inspiration from HKR today for tomorrow’s game. They’d lost 4 on the spin going in to today and were busted injury wise but they showed what can be achieved when every player goes out there and works their rocks off. We’ve not played with any sort of intensity since that Wire away game, bar maybe the second half in the cup at Leeds and that has to change tomorrow. The gap in effort and intensity from that run of Leigh, Saints and Wire to pretty much every other game this season is pretty startling.

Blackpool_Pie wrote: Sat Jun 17, 2023 10:11 am Does anyone remember the season we nearly went down? Attendances rose and we got behind the team even though looking through the squad it really lacked quality.

We are miles ahead quality wise where we were at that point yet we constantly have people moaning left right and centre calling out everyone from the coaching staff, the owners and the players. It's also been said on here someone thinks it would be better if the club don't win anything.

Well how about we just get behind the lads during this poor run and stop all this toxic sniping all the time. It's frustrating to see us in this slump, absolutely, but creating a toxic atmosphere and not going to games is not the answer. We have no divine right to win every game and yes, everyone wishes we could win more trophies (or at least most of us do) and wish we could play the best rugby and win more games but this is part of supporting a sports team. You have to take the rough with the smooth
No one thinks we have a divine right to win every game. Will people please stop posting that idiotic statement!

As to when we were nearly relegated in 2006 in that season we sacked Millward and brought in Nobel. Released Denis Moran and replaced him with Michael Dobson and paid £450,000 for Stuart Fielden.

Yet in 2023 we lost Bateman and did nothing about it, have needed a decent hooker for years and have done nothing about that and three of those considered as some of our best forwards, Cooper, Faz and Isa, are aged 34, 32 and 34. We also have a coach who can’t decide who his no 6 is.

Back in 2006 no one regretted the senior management taking radical action and while I am not suggesting Peet should be sacked the senior management in 2023 aren’t exactly helping him with the addition of a player or two even on loan.
