the reason i am glad it is banned because i hate the habbit its disgusting and annoying i have nothing against people smoking as long as they are no were near me.
jimmy u said that in your opinion that smoking doesnt really harm people in an open air stadium (near enough what u said) but i got to disagree as its happened to me plenty of times when a smoker as been sat directly below me every time they blew the smoke out i got a mouth of smoke and so did my mate and if that is not health damaging i dont no what to call it, please give me your view on why getting a mouth full of smoke isnt health damaging.
I didn't say it wasn't damaging, I said it could surely only cause a minute amount of damage. To suffer any genuine loss of health would take significantly more than this I suspect. You are probably damaging yourself more with a pie or hotdog.

As an occasional cigar smoker (I wouldn't smoke in my seat at the stadium) I have to say that I don't want to sit next to a smoker either, but purely because it annoys me, not because I fear for my life! Seriously, to complain purely on health grounds when in an open air stadium is not IMO a very strong argument.
There is a bloke who sits about three or four rows down from me in the East Stand who chain smokes throughout the match.

His smoke always wafts back up toward where I site and it does not disperse the instant he exhales. It comes back in a big cloud.

Maybe I am sensative to the smoke but I am certain it would cause difficulties for an asthma sufferer dispate being in the open air. I do think that I am inhaling his second hand smoke. I grew up with both parents smoking (mother still does at 86 !!) so God knows how much I have been affected by passive smoking so from my point of view, I don't want to add the smallest amount to it from this chaps smoke.

I shall be watching with interest to see if he complies with the ban and also if the ban is enforced should he light up.
