I logged in at 2:30, expecting a lot of traffic around kick off. Worked perfectly fine.
FWIW I thought Hill, Leemimg, Dupree and Makin went well. A few flashes from Farrimond
(why wasn't he taking conversions?).
I also thought Chan did well in the few brief minutes he was on the field.
That’s what I kept saying.

Response to my email:
Thank you for your email.
We apologise that you had a poor experience watching the live stream for Oldham v Wigan on Wigan TV on Sunday afternoon.
This was due to an overload on the site with a higher than expected demand for the service causing the website to refuse new connections. Once we were able to identify the issue, we were able to deploy additional resources to rectify the issue and saw an increase in connections for the second half of the game.
We totally understand how frustrating this must have been and again, we sincerely apologise for the issues.
Kind regards,
Wigan TV

Thanks Welski,
not sure if they have moved to another server hosting company, I notice there is a couple of improvements like the 10 second advance button. The handling of connections load was poor, hopefully sorted.

If they know how many subscribers they have then they should at least have that amount of allowable connections, if you can pay per view then they should also allow a %age for those as well, it's not rocket science.

It costs way too much to do that though, that's why companies do demand prediction and don't always get it right. Of course this could just have been something going down at the wrong time, or bad testing.

But the 'demand' to watch a pre-season friendly is going to be nothing compared to the demand to see bigger games further down the line. If they struggle with this....
Fortunately I was one of the lucky ones not affected, presumably because because I logged on well before KO.

I don't know what is involved Mike in running the site so just talking from a layman's point of view, but they do have a duty to fulfil their commitment to subscribers, so should at least have enough connections just in case, subscribers have paid to watch as and when they feel like.

For sure, TBH they have handled bigger livestreams surely, such as Reserve/Academy grand finals, unless we are looking at a massive uptick in subscribers
The IT stuff is hosted in "the Cloud" so the cloud experts are at fault more than likely, if it happens again then I will be very unhappy.

On a different note I’ve watched all of the interviews with the players lately. I’ve given up now because it’s got do tedious with the young lady asking each player exactly word for word the same questions Could she not get a new question sheet with a bit of variety to it or even go off topic with the players answers ??
