Is the top dek at Wembley still closed, it can't be sold out and no tickets available up there. I'd be concerned about that.

I hope that remark is tongue in cheek 😉 Leeds??

Sadly I won’t be going to any of the Ashes series 😢

Well I bagged a Wembley ticket this morning; looks like I'm going to have to be satisifed with that.

Did you try for tickets, Josie?

i would still disagree re Leeds for the final test, but it appears that the RFL backwards logic may work

my issue is still that Leeds for final test just says we are happy with mediocrity, and by only having 20k there when they could potentially have had 35-40k in a different ground. i'm not one that says it should have been at Wigan for example, and i would have said the same if it was at Wigan, that it aint big enough for a potential series decider against the Ozzies

For me, this is our 1st proper test series v Australia for years, and the demand was always going to be there, and with proper marketing / pricing we would get decent crowds anyway. If we were going into a decider, the demand would have outstripped supply anyway, if there were any tickets remaining but as it was, if you didnt get the early access code you didnt get the chance
I understand what you’re saying and to a point I agree with you if I could be picky I’d have gone for Huddersfield just to have a few more seats but I digress?ok I’ll agree with you that the demand was going to be strong but let’s cast our minds back to never world cup the demand then was soft and let’s say for instance they chose elland road as the third test venue and they where relying on “walk ups” to boost the gate and as could well happen England go there 2-0 down, for me lots of empty seats.

Naming headingly as that third venue is a master stroke, the last game regardless now will be a sell out and I’d wager it’s driven demand at Everton’s ground to the point it’s sold out now I fear that the Australians will be far to strong for England so it may as well go out on a full house than a held empty stadium.

As for Wigan’s getting a game given how flat I thought the atmosphere was last autumn it could be a good while before they stage an international there again

Got an alert this morning and didn't twig it was the 14th

By the time I did twig there were a fair few left at Everton so I went and checked Wembley. Went back to Everton and they had all gone! Then panic bought Wembley tickets (which is easier for me to get to).

Nope. As soon as Nigel Woods was brought back & then when they named the stadia, mainly because of Leeds, I decided I wasn’t going to give my money to the RFL & him!

I’m becoming disillusioned with it all at the minute ☹️

i think part of the problem when it comes to grounds (apart from availability) is that in the NorthWest we have Everton, Anfield, Old Trafford and Etihad which are all big grounds and top quality (although Old Trafford is probably a little dated in one sense)

Over in Yorkshire, the grounds arent quite as big or prestigious as the ones i've just mentioned above, unless you go out to Newcastle or possibly Sunderland, but they are out of the heartlands of traditional RL

I get the argument for Headingly, although i dont necessarily agree with it. I've been to the last 2 test series there, and stood on the Western terrace. Atmosphere wasnt great for either test that i recall, but accept that Wigan at times can be flat as hell, even when Wigan are at home. On the flip side, when Morley got sent off in the 1st 10 seconds, it was awesome that game

Whichever side of the debate we are on, its good to see 2 grounds sold out already as i have been very critical in the past about lack of marketing for test series / tri-nations / world cups, so having Simon Moran involved and utilising someones skills, has certainly worked. Now, hopefully we can get 60-70k on at Wembley, and then we can say its been a real success

Leeds is definitely a p**s poor choice for the 3rd Test, but what do you expect from the Yorkshire centric RFL management.
It should have been at Man City, they would have got a crowd of at least 40K

Isn’t the Rfl based in Manchester nowadays?

In the etihad campus no less.
