Not long after I started watching the game O' loughlin was the man to watch. We watched the horrendous injury. out a year then straight in as captain. Sorry too much too soon. He has to get his game in order first without the added responsibility of the captaincy. Still a player to watch. Maybe his rep gets him watched closer by the refs as there were worse than him getting away with it, HC

Try watching the game properly. He made umpteen tackles. Yes he gave some penalties away. He carried the ball up well. Outstanding effort, worked himself into the ground and for what? some very undeserving supporters it seems :(
Can't be bothered reading through a lot of the twaddle posted, he made 21 tackles in the first half and 17 in the second. 38 tackles, poor that isn't Alex :doz:

I honestly cannot believe some people are watching the game. Rob has posted you the stats, many of us are telling you this is what is happening.

Future matches, watch him closely. Watch who fills the gaps in defence, who shuffles across from blind to open depending where the threat is likely to come from, watch who takes the props positions when they are at dummy half, who stops certain breaks. Lockers is one of the best one v one tacklers in the game today. Alas, the game is going through a soft period. The ironic thing is lockers may wrap his arm around but show me somebody he has hurt? These dangerous tackles really are dangerous aren't they

Lockers is a fine forward, anyone that suggests he should be sold is mad, although he should not be skipper.
Hes not playing all that well. Hes constanly now getting penalised for high tackles. 2 last night and at least 1 a match in the last 5.

Hes suffering from confidence being hammered during IM.
On the first high tackle the player ducked into it. Nothing Lockers could do. The second high tackle that you give Lockers credit for was Fielden!!

Scot Logan who is only on the field half as much as o'loughlin makes more high tackles than O'Loughlin noticed there is no threads about this.

That is probably because it isn't true!

There is a thread on rlfans where a respecable poster claims Lockers has been penalised for a high tackle in every one of our games bar one.

If that is true there is no excuse for it. Averaging just about one penalty per game for high tackles isn't good and is not mitigated by whatever else he does.

Actually Dave there is and I will post it as part of the reason I asked about the worlds best defenders, if you would like to go and give your opinion...
There is what? Mitigating circumstances for giving a penalty for a high shot away once per game on average?

If that is what you mean then you may as well argue black is white because there is no way making a consistent error like that ought not to be eradicated from his game.

Perhaps most players commit a high tackle once per 20 tackles on average in a single half, however, most player don't make that many. If he makes so many tackles maybe he's tired and his form slides a little. I'd rather him give away a penalty or two than let an attacker through for a try.
