Tatupu also...we signed 4-5 bad, bad players at once. It was a bad season!
I'm pretty sure tatupu was only signed so we could play him in the cross code challenge against bath - because he was a union player; who ever made that signing clearly thought we had too much money.
I remember the first time I saw Doc Murray play. The commentator said "this fella is so laid back under pressure" after about 5 minutes I came to the conclusion that he either thought it was a training run out - or he was crap. He proved it to be the later every single time I saw him play.
Koloi was pretty shocking too - he didn't really have much in attack (I'm pretty sure he was fond of spilling the ball even when he wasn't under pressure) and his defence...
There are a whole host of journey men and ne'er do wells that have pulled on the cherry and white jersey; however for me it has to be DV. Horrendously over paid and regularly displaced by a journey man from Salford.
Never before have we tolerated such a mediocre signing being paid so much money.
He can't tackle, he is slower than a 20 year old donkey of Blackpool beach wearing lead boots. He can't create tries for his winger or himself. When he does play he gets injured and then is out for a month. 4 coaches have tried and failed to get anything out of him and worst of all he hasn't realised how useless is and done the decent thing and gone home. He simply collects the cheque week on week.
When you think we were in negotiations for Gasnier (who would have probably been on a similar fee) then you truly realise how the money could have been spent and how badly it has been wasted.
Seeing him line up in the side makes me weep.
Go home - GO HOME NOW!

Have to agree with that choice.
My only recollection, if I remember correctly was him playing as a sub against Leeds at Central Park.
He played a few minutes before limping off, can't remember anything else about him after that.

Paul Koloi had one of the worst songs ever sung at central park... Sung once to the tune of feeling hot hot hot....
Koloi Koloi, Koloi Koloi, Nigel Wright Wright Wright!!
Aslo Green Vigo was taken directly to the pub from the airport when he landed here and may never have recovered.

Gary Henley-Smith was a New Zealander who signed for us off the back of a career in athletics. At the time he held the NZ records for the 100 and 200 metres. He played a few games, and was extremely quick, but was never a rugby player. (He had played a bit of lower level kick and clap in NZ though).Anyway, we unloaded him to London, who were still Fulham I think, and I don't know what became of him after that.

The thing with Davico is that he was a bad signing for the club, but not necessarily a bad player (we will never know, since his 2 minute career in the Cherry and White tells us no more than Mark Hilton's "wearing of the shirt for a photo before being sent back to Warrington"!).
I remember seeing brief glimpses of the likes of Lee Hansen, Paul Koloi and Doc Murray, but can't really judge them as I was only watching RL on the telly back then.
Since I started regularly going in 1998, I'd have to nominate Jamie Ainscough, Ricky Bibey, Harvey Howard, and Desi Williams as the worst, with Jules O'Neill and DV not far behind.

Not sure you can include Bibey or Williams in the list, as they weren't signings.

They both had first team contracts, I think. Certainly both were given squad numbers for more than one season, Williams not actually getting a game in his second season. But given that we didn't have to promote them to the first team I still think they could count as signings. There haven't been many worse than them who have come through the ranks, the ones not likely to make the grade normally get sent off to Widnes instead...

Gary Henley Smith was reasonable IMO. Nothing special BUT then again he did what he had to reasonably well.
Steve brenehy would be a good call although u can tell him. Saw more red cards than passes.
