Im not Happy
Re: Im not Happy
We were second-best by a long way last night.
Basically their front row smashed our's (Fielden and Feka were useless), we had no field position and dropped the ball or got penalised when we had a chance of decent field position. Nobody was going to go the length of the field under those conditions, so without any decent field position, we were screwed.
Pleased to see everyone else was as impressed by O'Carroll as I was. But don't understand some of negative comments about the halves, who were rusty, but not as bad as some are making out. Leulai seemed to put a lot of defensive work in for a SH. Also, in defence of the new players, I thought Millard had a decent game (I'm a big fan of Higham but he was poor when he was on).
On the downside, there's our one-out attack, those grubber kicks, the slowest pair of centres I can ever remember us having, our sliding defence on our own line, losing the ball on the first tackle and just everything about Pat Richards

How can you say they had a settled Half Back pairing?damien morrissey posted:We were beaten by the better side on the night they have has a settled halfback pairing and that was the difference between the two sides. Forget the forward battle that we were beaten it wasnt the massive differennce that people have made out.02rinman posted:
we played rubbish today. o'carroll was leading the pack and i fort he played out of his skin. i think he set an example today. and he gave morley a black eye very promising for the future
Well done Warries but beware the return fixture.
They lost Chris Bridge early on with an injury :conf:

The forwards are very important for how the half backs can play, I mentioned in another thread about how the forwards need to be going forward and getting quick play the balls to put the opposition on the back foot. Barrett and LeuLeui can not put out any cut out passes if the defence is not on the back foot because the passes are intercepted instead Wigan were reduced to short passes down the middle which didn't really work because Warrington knocked the players back.damien morrissey posted:

The forwards setup the position for the half backs to work in, if the forwards do not dominated then the half backs have nothing to work with. Thats why Dobson and Orr looked good at the end of last season because in most matches Wigan dominated in the forwards with Fielden, Feka and Logan.

Medlocke I hope you are sat down because I agree with everything you say!!medlocke posted:
Fielden was about as much use as a fart in a hurricane, that guy needs to deck somebody soon and get his self esteem back, at times it looked like he was jogging, where has his fire gone :exc: :exc:

I have to say one thing that impressed me was Warrington had done their homwork on tackling Feka. If you watch they rightly used his momentum to tackle him rather than trying to attack him. Their tall forwards basically 'cuddled' him high and pulled him with his momentum to the ground.
I truly think the match looked worse live. When I watched it on SKY. We did well in the first 20 minutes. Made some bad mistakes after. The first 20 of the second we were dominant but after that the game became a farce.

I got it from a Kiss group on Myspace, i've found allsorts of them from kiss/Led Zeppelin/Zappa on there, the majority are of Kiss (Flashing logo's/Morphing faces etc)num lock posted:
If you are all honest,Wire were always the favourites for the game tonight, the players they have added are impact players,we are starting all over again with a brand new half back pair.BUT,look a little bit beyond the result, and I see a great deal of promise.
Someone on another thread said that our forwards need to be closer to the play, our forwards never ran more than 5 yards to receive the ball,so had no impact.Think about Feka last season when he was making all those yards, how far was he running before he received the ball?
Barrett was first class,Lulu not far behind,Hock is going to be THE best second row in Super League,O'Carroll was a bloody revelation,I did post a while ago about his similarity to Danny Nuttley, just keep it going lad!.
I am not predicting we will win the Grand Final, but we are going to see a hell of a lot more wins than we did last season.
Medlocke, were did you get that great picture of Ace Frehley?
Re: Im not Happy
Apart from a few bad mistakes we were ok especially having so many new faces. People are excpecting us to win everything and when we lose 1 were getting relegated and things are bad.cpwigan posted:

We will struggle this season for a while. Our pack and backs lack cohession as a side nothing else. Not like last season were we were crap defencivly for a long time.
Its a long season and where we will see a difference is when sides get injuries and rest players. We apart from a couple of areas 1 prop more is needed as strong squad wise as any.
Stop panacking we lost to a very good side they as a 17 are 1 of the best in SL but when they get injuries theyll get a problem.
in the next 4 weeks we will look like a top 6 side and win a few more than we did at the same stage as last season.
Its a 3 year plan Nobby has not a 3 week one. Patience is needed so get off players backs and support them all not just the ones we want to.
