Wigan Rugby, it is on page 2 of the League Express and includes quotes by the Bradford Chief Exec/Chairman
So does this mean it likely that we will sign him now then

Sky text states that KR have offered a deal to king and we are expecting his decision after the wed origin game this week. It does seem to say that he is heading to SL and we are still in the race for him.
Fingers crossed time.

HULL Kingston Rovers has offered Melbourne Storm and New South Wales back Matt King a deal for the next Super League season.
Wigan was thought to be the favourite to sign the powerful 26 year old, who has expressed a desire to play in England, after Bradford denied interest.
But Rovers were first to declare their hand with an offer conditional on the club retaining its place in Super League
Does this mean we have not offered him a contract and hull kr have a better chance than us?

No, it probably just means there's little news in Hull KR land this week so their media people want to raise the club's profile, particularly in a week where another rival for King's services (us) is only being spoken about in terms of salary cap breaches. Looks like easy journalism to me, the club feeding the news service instead of the news service having to invent a story...

Does this also mean that wigan have made an offer for him because its reportedly that we are the favourates to sign him and justin morgan said We have put an offer to him and we have had a very positive response from his agent and he is likely to come to the UK.
"Whether that is with us or somebody else I don't[/i] know."

I've no idea, but when was the last time Wigan actually said "we are interested in signing player x" before making an offer? There are always rumours, and those rumours would have us signing about 100 players a year, but it's rare to hear anything from the club until the deal is done. After the Gasnier farce a couple of years ago, the club now wisely do their deals outside the public eye. WRT King, we've had no news so that either means we're already making the deal work outside the public eye, or, there's no news!

King will never go to a struggling side who are very much in the relegation dog fight.
