Wigan fans seem to have a weird pre-occupation with the only suitable coach has to have a former Wigan connect and/or be a Wiganer. Graham Lowe and John Monie were neither. Both were coaches educated in the very latest developments in RL. That is what you need to replicate.
The sad truth not one of the British or Wigan born candidates is up to coaching this club. They could improve on Noble but that is not hard. They could be an assistant coach and be ready to take over in 3 years time but the head coach job is beyond them all at this point in time. Maybe not in the future.
Kearney or Folkes could both be enticed from Australia.

Good post. The point about Lowe and Monie is spot on.
We need another one of those.
I see on rlfans Hanley is a popular choice. Lam is another.
But why? Because of their association with Wigan.

He'd do for me, too!
Bennett has stepped down to concentrate on his role with St George Illawarra, it's not like he has left the Kiwi set up just to mooch around doing nothing.
Unfortunately, the only real ie available, candidates are Cullen, (please NO!) Steve McCormacvk following his sacking from Widnes (he sounded very enthusiastic about Ainscough and J. Tomkins on GMR last night) and Ellery Hanley. Everyone else is tied up with contracts.
I meant Iro, not Bennett, that's why I put it in bold...

Can’t agree here..Hanley is a popular choice because of his total ethos of the game and the self belief he has along with his experience of coaching.
