I feel sorry for Stuart, but why name him in the squad, get the supporters looking forward to his return, then he says he isn't playing :conf:

That is why I was concerned about him returning without a game in the U20's to see how he went first. He hasn't played since February & I wouldn't want him to breakdown in a game that would set back his recovery even further.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

We keep getting incorrect messages about his return date in interviews etc too Josie. Whether or not the truth is being kept back I do not know. IMO, Stuart Fielden's body has taken a tremendous beating over the course of his career. When we all said this man is the best prop in world as he went into 3/4 man challenges bounced out or kep going, the stress on his body must have been immense, when many enjoyed seeing him bent backwards by illegal tackles very often by Barrie Mac then I wonder just what the long term impact upon Stuart Fielden was.

It was always a good idea, which is now looking even better. I didn't make the meeting btw.

Maybe we are looking to deep into this, maybe MM knows his 17 and Stu was never in it but just wanted him in the 19 to get a kit on, get on the pitch, get a feel for the warm up and just get in the changing room again as a squad member and maybe he has not had a setback.

Well it's looking more and more likely that Cross is the one out of him and Fielden that will get a chance tonight and possibly next week.

We can't IMO go into the wire match with 3 props. We'll get hammered in the pack. Fingers crossed that cross can make the 17 this week and next.

presuming Prescott is out till the end of the month as reported

i just don`t see the point cp,we`ve let davies go and signed a guy on a five minute contract seemingly to warm him up for widnes next season, given the amout of time it takes for props to settle i don`t think we needed him.
I presume Madge thinks a hardened NRL prop with Origin experience is a better bet than a player he obviously does not rate and has no (or a couple of games SL experience) ?

I don't think Madge is that type of man personally. I also think Crosby would get the nod before Davies.

Sorry mickw but I think that is a ridiculous post and totally lacking any substance or evidence.

Lima is playing really well at the moment and contributing consistently.

Cross irrelevant of his very recent history is SOO and proven NRL player.

'Jobs for the boy's' well yes they are men who I am sure will do a good job for us.

Finally, Madge Certainly has not upset me or probably most if not all other fans, in terms of the players who knows who is happy and who is not, if your playing you will be happy, if not you wont, that is sport that is life. It seems to me the lads have a great spirit no matter who plays and the person to thank for that is MM. In a nutshell I think we have a happy camp and will remain to do so, with
MM DOING EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO KEEP IT THAT WAY!!

well if it takes cross as lomg as it took lima to settle then the season will be over FACT,and if you would rather block the path of a young home grown player in favour of a bloke who has NO future with us then you must be quite happy for us never to challange the aussies again.as for cross`s recent history being irrelevant well i find that ridiculous.
Take it you didn't go the game tonight then?
