Clever? By that I take you mean he managed to polish a t**d.

It's mostly spin to cover up the reality of what has actually happened.

Lost two players to the NRL who may return one day, signed an aging RU player, made a dubious coaching appointment and signed a player to a "long term" contract (while at the same time announcing two players on "long term contracts" are leaving).
btw what does ifl mean? take its ian lenaghan but what does f mean? not some stupid childish remark like fake or fatty?
It's his middle initial isn't it?

cause he announced it in 1 press conference with the clubs plans for the future. signing andy powell is a good idea for rugby league in wales as we know il owns scorpions so for a few games he will be playing for them which would attract crowds and plus wc is in oct. 31 is not very old to be a forward (look at steve menzies and peacock)and could be a good signing for us.
you unhappy because we let 2 players go nrl who are under long term contract? we are getting money for them. plus fact is sl is now becoming a breeding ground for nrl due to there huge salary cap. end of day hes a businessman who wants make money for the club and himself which in rl you cant do it.

PMSL! I think his middle name is Francis. If you've got predictive text on a mobile, its easier to type IFL than miss out the F and end up with I'll!

Lee Mossop: Wigan & England man set for Parramatta Eels challenge

Wigan Warriors and England prop Lee Mossop tells BBC North West Tonight that he is at the right point in his career to test himself in Australia's NRL.

The 24-year-old will join Parramatta Eels at the conclusion of the 2013 Super League season, but has not ruled out a return to Wigan at the end of his contract in Australia.

Wigan Warriors chairman Ian Lenagan welcomes NRL interest

Wigan Warriors chairman Ian Lenagan tells BBC North West Tonight that he is happy to allow players from his club to ply their trade in Australia's NRL, as he believes they will return to Wigan better players.

England duo Lee Mossop and Gareth Hock have agreed moves to Parramatta Eels at the end of the 2013 Super League season.

Meanwhile, Lenagan has backed new signing Andy Powell, who joined from rugby union outfit Sale Sharks on Tuesday, to make a big impact after switching codes to rugby league.

Does anyone else think its a bit ironic that IL seems to get the message right and show a decent nouse for media relations whenever he does speak to the press, but on the other hand we have a head coach who's media skills can be questioned and a club that rarely make a statement. IL appears media savvy but not media hungry, but that doesn't always appease us fans who want all the news confirmed as soon as a rumour is raised.

DaveO wrote: The first relates to Leed's attitude to approaches for their stars.

That is a pretty unequivocal statement about Hethrington about knocking back approaches for players.

".... and I can confirm Leeds Rhinos will not be selling any of our players to NRL clubs."
Not many will be taken in by Hetherington's bravado.
He lost Ellis & Morley to the NRL in their prime.
Morley himself states that he was distracted throughout his final season at Leeds with all the offers coming in from Australia.
He also released Greg Eastwood with two years of his contract left.
“Usually the fans that abuse players like Sam have never done anything of any note themselves. They’re nobodies, whose greatest claim to fame is abusing someone who has, and these so-called ‘Eddie the Experts’ pretend to their mates that they have."

As ever, Hetherington is grandstanding. Bags of cash and a superstar lifestyle kids can only dream of. Only thing that will prevent them going will be if the kids themselves don't want to go!
