Dave saying that pettybourne replaces hock because we hold his registration is taking logical argument one step too far for me.
Hock has not played for us this season. Regardless of what the financial situation says, he left at the start of the year.
Pettybourne replaces Tuson.

I will have another go.
I can't see what significance holding someone's registration has. It's a bonkers argument. Pettybourne is replacing Tuson. That is a trade up and leaves us stronger. He can give us some impact and gives balance with a top class plodder - H and a jack of all trades - Faz. It makes us stronger.
Bowen for Sam is about as much as we can hope for. We may well be weaker, but he's a fantastic talent.
If we sign Clubb and play him prop, which would make a lot of sense to me having watched him play perhaps 100 times, he would be a major step up from Lauaki. None of that has been confirmed, as indeed is the case with much of the conjecture on this and every other thread, but it is hardly a stretch given the stories in the papers this week.
Sarginson as cover at 1, rather than Tierney, is an improvement. Hopkins Ives us depth.
Powell's signing remains mysterious, and we may miss Mossop massively, but it seems to me less of a gamble than signing Flower and Dudson, given his pedigree and both of those have turned into useful players.
It's possible to be miserable about out prospects last year. It was possible to be miserable about our prospects this year, be miserable about how we've played all year and spend the next 6 months being miserable about the comings and goings for 2014.
To my mind, this year is going very nicely indeed and the signing of Bowen, combined with the emergence of a new generation of talent makes me optimistic that next year could be enjoyable as well.
