Unless the players salaries are reported separately from the rest of the staff we won't really know if we pay up to the cap or not.
I have seen it suggested on the A&L facebook page we were £500K below the limit before Joel arrived (not saying he is on £500K BTW just that this person seems to think the wage bill was £500K shy of the limit).
Where they got that from I have no idea but I do think similar to yourself in that if we do pay to the cap I hope some of the younger players aren't on start salaries because we certainly don't have many players who justify top salaries of over say £180K.

Exactly, a well run club with the added bonus of success as well!
The future's bright for those wearing Cherry & White.

if you don't like negative comments for fear of what others from other clubs might read, why have the forum in the first place?
Do you want everybody to sit on the picnic blanket eating pink chocolate elephants and drinking lemonade?
People with differing views are a fact of life, unfortunately I don't fall on the happy clappers side of the fence and won't sit there because a bottom ender from Billinge might read my comments!
But most are not differing views and a reason why some with differing views like Kittwazzer have thrown in the towel!
Most appear to be one sided from a minority of never happy non clappers.
p.s. And the only people who sit on picnic blankets doing as you suggest are the ones at 'Twickers'
You cannot have a team because the local gene pool is not strong enough to provide necessary talent. How many prop forwards are produced locally? So players from Cumberland ,MOSSOP , have to be recruited as well. My impression is that not enough young players turn out to be good enough to play for first team, but that may be very difficult to do in the real world. Was impressed with this years close season signings, tremendous potential to become top 17 players ,but we needed a another real prop ,ie not Pettybourne ,a make weight. Have a decent chance this year if fitness comes good and SW can time the run and avoid the Cas type snafu. Do we spend enough on props? If they think they are underpaid compared to favoured others they will not stay long.BESTS
