And, of course, that would be another of Betts' poor substitutions, despite the fact that Terry was in Disneyland.
Sorry, I know I don't know as much as others on here and probably seem stupid when I post, but I get disheartened whenever he goes off, I just think he's great lol. You're right though, would rather take him off than have him carry on playing concussed/dazed whatever. Sorry, I'm not a good judge of substitutions. :(

I do not want Millward.

I can't believe we threw that game away, someone has to do something 18-0 and we lose. It's just heartbreaking to watch us once again let the come back happen. What exactly was said at half time, because whatever it was did NOT work. There were some good moves in the first half and I thought we might have been in with a chance, was really pleased with the two interceptions and thought Moran might start to show signs of clever play.

To be honest today, I thought we'd start off badly while we got used to playing as a full team in a real match and then second half we'd get better but it was the opposite, we did well for a while in the first half then slowed down, and slipped away. No fighting power at all it's such a shame.
The who do you suggest. I agree he is not the most popular choice amongst us but he is the best. Unless we got Shaun Edwards or Chris Anderson then its got to be him.
I really don't like to post - post match as everything is covered over and over but I cannot let this pass without comment.

SHAUN EDWARDS!! Where on earth did you dig that name up from. No experience, no coaching calibre and been out of the game half a generation.

Posted my thoughts of C.Anderson - too risky on the health front. Bad enough trying to maintain the fitness of the players without worryng about the coach having a heart attack.

[But the major problem tonight shows how important Orr is he went off and we went downhill.
Why did he go off? Was he injured?

If not then Betts really is at fault. I can cope with him chaning Orr for Brown to try something different but when we went in at half time 20-4 up we needed Orr back on the field for the second half. The second half should heve been evenmore basic rugby to defend that lead. Not panic football. Orr would have steadied the ship and tackled which half the team didn't do.

As soon as that disaster on the first set of six occured he should have been back on. We needed a solid player in the middle not an unpredictable one like Brown.

I can only assume Orr was injured.

The other comment I have is about Betts future. I am going to assume he is going to be leaving.

Some have said they hope can be assitant coach to whoever comes in. That isn't going work IMO. If the players won't play for him now, they won't listen to him as an assistant.

I read an article today about Dean Sampson at Castleford. He has just cut his last tie with the club after being under 21 coach and then jujnor development officer or something.

The comment from some big wig at Castleford was he was certain one day Dean would be head coach but that "he needed time away from the club".

Absolutely spot on and that is exactly what Betts needs IMO if he wants to have any future involvement with the club.

Betts needs to leave and take abreak while the current generation of players play out their careers.

Whether he would ever get the chance to come back is another matter but I reckon its the ony chsnce he has got because hanging on for grim death isn't going to work.

D o D No experience? first team coach next year at the rah rah grand final winners not count? Did you not see the eppy he threw on the touchline last saturday when leicester scored their only try of the game after 78 minutes when it could have no bearing on Wasps winning the final. Total and absolute commitment, no Wigan player would dare to play like they played in the second half because they simply would not play for Wigan again.
What I really like about Edwards is the story I read in the Daily Telegraph interviewing the England flanker Joe Worsley who said Edwards biggest strength was his ability to get EVERY player playing to the absolute limit of his own personal ability whether that player was an England international like Worsley or a 3rd teamer, Edwards put in exactly the same effort to get each player to reach his own personal limit.
THAT IS WHY HE SHOULD BE COACH AT WIGAN :exc:

taken from the daily mail only a few weeks ago, edwards stated he hates spending too much time in wigan because it is a place of bad memories with billy joe, edwards would make an amazing coach and is probably doing a sterling job in union but unfortunately i can never see him flying the flag at wigan

tonight was a joke i have never seen such an inability to tackle man and ball from any team ever. this seems to be our main prob this year oh and lacking 2 decent centers. dv is so slow i cant belive it i move quicker than him when i am half no make that fully asleep. we are slipping closer to that relegation zone i can only see us beating leigh this year at the rate we are going we shall just have to hope widnes get hammered by every one else to stay in this division. i hate to say it but relegation is a real possibilty.
I dont think changing the coach will do much as on sunday we will prob be 8th. ( whats the point in changing the coach when th new one will get sacked when we miss the play offs which we will lets be realistic.)
