Tbh it's not about the result, it's about the way in which we play.
Part of me wanted to lose tonight as I don't wish to paper over the cracks any more.
It's just time for a change. Wane should go. Now.

He's entitled to his opinion even if it may be wrong
They claim we lost down to pure bad luck more than playing badly, let's hope if we ever get poor luck we don't finish the season where Huddersfield are right now

I'm not sure the problem is wholly on the pitch. I do think that this squad of players (although I have serious doubts about some) could achieve great things if they were properly coached.
Slow passing across the field meant that Hull hardly had to break sweat to stop us and as the match went on, you could see individuals reasoning that the basic play would never work so why not try something on your own. I don't blame them, frankly.
Defensively, we never seemed to concentrate on clamping the ball and the endless shots of Wane sat on his own, seeming never to issue orders to change our play summed it all up.
How did we get to here from where we used to be? We were run of the mill - another Castleford, if you will and I can't see any reason to hope if nothing changes off the field. Importing a big lump who hits people isn't my idea of progressive rugby for a change of emphasis next season.
A very sad night.
The player are fatigued, they nearly always are. The players follow instructions to the letter which is why you can map which player takes the ball up in which position on the field and why we use our back 5 as forwards or exit sets because the forwards are so shattered defending. It is cumularive too; scrape wins, sap energy eventually becomes no energy to win big games like the Derby and the Semi. Fatigue = ineffective/dropped off tackles and bad decision making but it gets worse and worse. In possession we have no energy to attack. Injuries? Fatigue causes injuries. Dominant teams get less injuries unless a player gets unlucky.

Players half fit. Madfreds drop ball. The poorest thing hes done since starting at wigan. No blame though, hes a star in my book,he was gutted. .The other side of the coin.Williams throws a forward pass and we go over for a NO TRY.Looked ok to me.I can go on and on about VERY small margins.
With the choices he has,Wayne is doing a fabulous job and deserves some real support from fans, hes 101% wigan through and through. He was gutted at the end of the game.Along with an exhausted, bloody team that where a pass, kick, a couple of poor refd decission away from Wembley.Edge of your seat stuff again.
Gutted i am like many, but over reaction is not cool.Congrats to Hull.Big pat on the back for our Warriors and next week we go again.

You are tight but I would disagree re Wane and the disalowed try. His signing and tactics are his free choices. He did not come up with any imaginative tactic either for the semi albeit time is limited.
Hull were equally gutsy and in a way reflect the worry that is SL. Hull are having a great season but were far from special and a quiality NRL team would have destroyed both Hull and Wigan tonight.

Sam T will be interesting. IMO he is a better all round player than when he left but I hope he can find his zip and off the cuff attack (Williams is the only one offering that presently).
All round Sam had a decent game but he is paid sily money to win games and for that you expect the young fullback that destroyed Wire with a chip and chase from his own 20, the scoots breaking from dummy half. I just hope he can find his zip and magic for 2017.

A few thoughts from tonight's game, firstly Hull were by far the better team a 4 point defeat flattered us if they'd have converted more of their clear breaks it would have been embarrassing. Although you can't knock our effort we have no Plan B and Plan A is sketchy why when we're in the opponents 20 why are we kicking early ie 3rd tackle that's not building pressure.Sam T is either not fit or has lost at least a yard of pace if he's not fully fit why are we exposing him at fullback?Watching Wane on the sidelines there seemed to be nothing coming from him as in instructions to the team even when there was a long stoppage for an injured Hull player there was no messages coming from him to the team is it that he sends them out with a plan and that's it? Matty Smith I've said time and again he's not a pressure goal kicker those 2 points to make it 16-14 were crucial as a 2 point game can put doubt into the opposition and cause mistakes, he rarely takes the line on and creates little yes he's won us games with drop goals but if he was more creative we wouldn't need to win by a drop goal. Are our half backs stifled by Wanes tactics is it time they took it upon themselves to try something different the 2nd worst attack in an extremely poor Super League would suggest we should, why do the half backs no long work together and are constantly split? Will Ian Lenegan and Kris Radlinski have the nerve to replace Wane if we suffer another trophyless season?

I think you are asking the wrong question.
It should be will IL and Radlinski have the nerve to KEEP him if we have another trophyless season.
Sadly I think they will.

Bizarre as it is, Wigan could still have beaten Hull tonight. It might have been unfair but nobody cares if you get to Wembley. Wire look a good bet v Hull IMO.
IL will never sack Wane.

In this day and age of video analysis I daresay teams can literally map who runs with the ball and what Wigan do anywhere on the field at each tackle.

I agree. It's stating the obvious but they only scored 16 points! That is never enough to be comfortable or it shouldn't be. It can win you a game v this Wigan side though.
IL will never sack Wane.
He will have more excuses than the most cheery 'n white fanatic as to why Wane is the man for the job.
If we don't win anything this year and should we do so next, it will have all been a master plan disregarding the missed opportunities this weak league offers. We should be walking this league with the players we have or at least be genuine favourites with Wire.
