Signings?
Re: Signings?
You never know he might turn out to be another Ben flower(before the grand final punch).
He isn’t the biggest but punched well above his weight at the time

Exactly, and Navarette was a huge success wasnt he? Another project player whom has cost next to nothing, at least IL is consistent.medlocke wrote:We finally make a signing and all we get it bitching and moaning, straight replacement for Navarrete IMO

Why do you think every signing should be a success? It doesn't happen anywhere does it?old hooker wrote:Exactly, and Navarette was a huge success wasnt he? Look at the Saints example I posted earlier.
Tommy Lee, Luke Douglas, Dom Peyroux, Zeb Tai, Adam Walker, Matty Smith, Jack Owens, Ryan Morgan!!!! and there's probably more like Matty Dawson.
What about Wire with Westerman, Asotasi, Dodds etc.
There's always a risk, some of those mentioned above were experienced players.
As for the he hasn't played NRL yet comments George Carmont didn't play 1st Grade until he was 25 or 26 years of age.
Give the lad a chance, he deserves that at least!!

I don't think anyone is having a go at the lad himself, I'm sure he is a fine prospect. Its more about the fact when the fans are screaming for a goal kicker and a centre we are still signing project forwards!. The criticism is level firmly at the club and its recruitment strategy rather than the boy himself. No straw damn us wrote:Why do you think every signing should be a success? Reminds me of that sketch in in the Fast Show where the woman asked her husband to get things from the shop and shen she's asked them if he got the things she asked he'd say "Even Better!" then reel off a list of items nothing to do with the list.
Wigan are just ignoring the massive issues in the squad

If we had said that is our only recruitment this off season I could understand the frustrations however lets see what happens and if the players we need are not brought in then by all means voice our concerns, I know I will be!

Re: Signings?
As I mentioned above as a replacement for Navarette we have traded up massively.
On the squad generally, I would be happy if the coach announced that we were going to hire medical staff that can get the first team players playing, that the NZ Test hooker was going to play at 9 next year and that we are getting an attacking coach. That would be enough for me without any additional signings, though I guess we can get another centre to take Tierney's place...

Re: Signings?
Well he can't be coming over to play for free so he is taking salary cap money up even if on a low wage. So any recruit that doesn't address the obvious issues is going to be questioned for that reason alone.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:If we had said that is our only recruitment this off season I could understand the frustrations however lets see what happens and if the players we need are not brought in then by all means voice our concerns, I know I will be!
We also have supposedly the best academy in any sport according to IL so why did we need to go and sign a player who Wane has called a "project" from elsewhere? Have we not already got enough of our own projects?
