My point is that kids go to what's trendy or cool, or whatever the latest jargon is. But the crowd/atmosphere is a big part of the experience. They won't come back to see 10 or 12 thousand old fogies complaining about the ref!

Tbh, the Wigan fans at away matches create more atmosphere than at home. It's ok complaining about IL or Lammy's tactics or team selection, but WE/YOU just might be part of the problem.

you mean they are not more interested in video games and youtube influencers than a game that's been dead on its feet for a few years now. I am surprised

We didn’t however keep up the momentum for the cup tie
Sorry but that’s a ridiculous comment.

If we'd blown away the 6 teams we've played, there would be legitimate concern that we were peaking too soon/using all our best moves/"wait til we get injuries" and so on. People and, it seems, Wigan fans in particular, like a good moan.

Marvin the Paranoid Android would fit in well on here:
Arthur: I lived on a beautiful planet once.
Marvin: Did it have oceans?
Arthur: Oh yes; great big rolling oceans.
Marvin: I hate oceans.
If we'd been offered 7/7 at the start of the season, who would have said "Only if we play everyone in the position I think is best, and we don't give any penalties away, and Lammy says the right things...."?

"We've got improvement in us" may be a cliché, but with Gilly, Tommy, Field, Marshy and more sitting in the stands, there's surely room for a pinch of optimism?

Has it occured to anyone that it may not be the dross that puts people of, but the constant moaning from the fans?
We SHOULD have blown Leigh away. Twice. Because they are absolutely rubbish. No one would claim we peaked too early if we had. Leigh have only conceded less than 34 points three times this season so far and two of those games were against us. They have let in 34, 44 (twice) and 52 in the other four games.

As to the other other Wigan results the a win against Cas and Wakey (often difficult to beat) have been good results but bar those two none of the others have been convincing.

I never understand this “peaking too early” concept either. It’s usually trotted out as an excuse for poor play. No one is expecting the team to play at GF intensity week in week out but just look like they have a plan A never mind plan B.
