You're glad he did it? What a total idiot you are. What he has done is damage us for next season. Even if he goes to the Bulls he has tarnished our club. He (and us) will still be talked about next season because of what that thug did and
you are happy about it!
Leaving aside any debate about the severity of the punishment, Terry Newton knows that he has a reputation - deservedly or not - and should not be running around looking to smack people. Maybe if there weren't plonkers like you applauding his behaviour he would act differently.

Ok it was a dangerous what TN did but how often did Long hit Lam after he had kicked the ball. Lam never got seriously injured through luck more than anything else. Seems its ok for him to play beyond the rules but not any other team.

So you're accepting that all the hits Lammy used to take after the kick were ok then. I bet you stood there shouting at the referee.

got to say this is totally out of order the game is hard enough without these dangerous tackles and think it's time we introduced the australian disciplinary system in this country and if we did Newton would have got even more matches than he has now,Newton's problem is he starts to go headhunting and wigan lose their gameplan when he is focused on the game wigan are more dynamic.
don't get me wrong i'm all for aggressive tackling but there is a big difference between aggressive tackling and being a thug and to applaud someone who injures a player through thuggery is not on,i even hate it when a player gets injured and the fans cheer i think that is disgusting.

I think a lot of you show little understanding as regards what it is like to be a player and equally your all psychic with your ability to read minds.
I played a lot of sport and let me just say comments like your a great player but you have an awful reputation were commonplace and that is a polite version. Not once did I enter a field of play with the intention of hurting anybody. To the contrary people frequently arrived at matches verbaly promising and actually trying to physically hurt me. As it happened, I hurt them simply because I was born with an inate ability to tackle with ferocity and protect my own body. Please note, I'm not giving it the big I am. Trouble followed me just because of my name to the extent I had people looking to shove glasses in my face in public and so forth. I gave sport up when people started taking legal action against players.
If your Terry Newton, struggling to even play due to pain but beimng asked to weak in week out and whatsmore lead a pack of young players you are going to give it everything. Your trying to do so and your bodys telling you not to, it's even making you too slow because you cannot function as you would like.
In one game this year that led to at least one reckless and dangerous tackle. Did he mean to fracture Sean Longs cheekbone? I very much doubt it. From personal thinking things happen so quickly your simply looking to produce a big hit that will hurt your opponent. In fact every time you tackle your looking to 'hurt' your opponent.
When you play with fire the worst sitution is when the team is on the back foot and your striving to give your mates that little extra. You have people sledging you, Hooper is winding you up and so forth. Yes your looking for the big painful hit. You are not looking to physically damage your opponent. People who set out to do that are far more calculating and deliberate. The player your aiming to impose your physicality on is skilful, your struggling, frustrated. If your a fraction of a second too late in your timing then you become reckless and dangerous. He did celebrate his hit but did he do so because he knew he'd completed a big hit or did he do so because he knew hed broke Longs cheekbone. I think Long also said something.
Will Terry Newton play for Wigan or Bradford? I do not know. I do know with a large degree of certainty that he will have a superb 12 months after his ban ends. The break will allow his body to recover and provided he then stays injury free he will be in sensational form. It could add time to his career long term.
Terry was guilty of a reckless and dangerous challenge. Anybody who thinks otherwise is deluded BUT he was treated unfairly because his ban was out of proportion with the treatment that others received. A disciplinary body that is not fair and consistent is corrupt.
Jason Hooper took a kicker late for the umpteenth time in his career last night :eh:
