£170k transfer fee apparently. Heard it on the commentary yesterday, didn’t know it was that much.

I don’t think we paid that fee, the £170k was the figure that we originally offered and was turned down by Salford. They then approached Wigan and accepted a lower figure. However, I do agree it does show intent.nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 10:12 am £170k transfer fee apparently. Heard it on the commentary yesterday, didn’t know it was that much.

Why would they approach Wigan with a lower offer when they refused to let him go for £170k in the first place?? That makes no sense at all. HKR offered £150k for him!Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 10:51 amI don’t think we paid that fee, the £170k was the figure that we originally offered and was turned down by Salford. It’s called negotiation Josie. Why would Salford offer him a contract extension a few days before they agreed to sell him. That’s Rugby League for you.josie andrews wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 12:30 pmWhy would they approach Wigan with a lower offer when they refused to let him go for £170k in the first place?? I forgot about thatCharriots Offiah wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 12:59 pm I forgot to add, you need to factor in Singleton going the other way.

For his try he ran at the gap in the Leigh defence instead of at a defender and when he got through he didn't dive straight over the line but turned and ran behind the props, just hoping that these are temporary faults that our training systems can iron out of his play.![]()
