Your First Match
Re: Your First Match
1963'ish, aged 11, an international against France at Central Park, I bloodied my nose, running into a crush barrier (not looking where I was going), been the same ever since. Billy Boston was playing that day.

Re: Your First Match
I cant remember, probably sometime in 1985 as a baby - first I can remember was... it's taken me a while to think...
Barrow, 1988 away I think only because I asked my dad why are we going to the boats? (windermere)
But i remember vaguley watching the halifax CC final match on telly and my uncle's banner at my grandma's house which he took
first match I remember fully was in 1989 doncaster regal trophy i think, hammered them thats why i remember
(not featherstone as previously thought) it was one or the other

Re: Your First Match
About 1959 against Swinton, I think.
Anyway, I was a regular by the time we went to Wembley in 1961. Worked in a bank and the manager would let us off early on Saturdays to get the coach to away games.
Sat on the high wall near the entrance (God, what would Health and Safety make of that now) but later became a season ticket holder for 5 years until marriage caught up with me.

Re: Your First Match
i think it was 1964 as mere 8 year old and the game was Stains at home
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White
Re: Your First Match
mine was salford v wigan in 2003 i think it was when radlinski scored a cracking try. i was already a wigan fan snce 1994 but never previously been to a game. i think it was a ploy by my old man to get me to be a salford fan but he failed miserably
and now im a season ticket holder and plan on going to most of the games this season coming up
