Orr
Re: Orr
danny did not jump he was pushed, as I said on another topic, I spoke to Danny at the players awards" was he here in 2007?", his answer was I have another year on my contract and he intended to see it out, for my part a good player lost he finally found his form the gets shown the door, me thinks he will come back to haunt us

A bit of both, according to his interview in the WEP today.MiThor posted:

Talking about the signing of Barrett, and the interest in Leuluai, he says:
"I could see my chances in the first team were definitely going to be limited.
"I didn't want to leave Wigan, I still had another year of my contract left to run. But I sensed I wasn't wanted.
"Then my agent told me Harlequins were interested, so I went to see them.
Re: Orr
I think he should get over it. We have signed two players who, in the eyes of people at the club who decide these things, are better. Doesn't mean they think he's rubbish, just that he's not as good. We have a salary cap to keep within, and it's purely a business decision.
It wasn't personal, it was business. Sorry if that sounds a bit like the Mafia!

Re: Orr
He just wanted the security of a longer deal. I don't think it was anything to do with us signing 2 international halfbacks. Does Danny really think he is going to get picked before Hill and Rinaldi?

Confirmation he was pushed out.GeoffN posted:

Given the players who have left the club we should have plenty of room under the cap to have all three players. That would be a good business decision. We have signed two players who, in the eyes of people at the club who decide these things, are better. He clearly did not instigate this by requesting a transfer as Solomona has done at Wakey and would have been happy to stay.
Its pretty plain now that despite having a year to run on his contract he was made to feel unwanted. That sort of tactic is right out of the Millward coaching manual. It is underhand and scant reward for his efforts. Not something that I would term business like.It wasn't personal, it was business. Sorry if that sounds a bit like the Mafia!![]()
The club may well have decided they wanted someone else but while I think it is wrong for players to want out of contracts freely entered into early as Solomona does, it is IMO equally wrong for clubs to try and engineer players out of their contract like this. They should honour their side of the bargain.

Re: Orr
That seems to depend on which player, though; not too many tears were shed when Millward, Moran, Brown &Co. were shown the door, despite still being under contract.DaveO posted:

Very poor. Given you think the sun shines out of Nobles bum do you think the way this has been handled is typical of the man?Nine posted:
Sounds like you need to get over it as well, Dave.
Is it his way to make players feel unwnated or use the salary cap as an excuse to get players to leave?

Re: Orr
Millward got sacked and was told so to his face by Mo. Hardly the same thing. Moran was told he didn't fiigure any more. Brown went on loan and decided he wanted to stay.GeoffN posted:That seems to depend on which player, though; not too many tears were shed when Millward, Moran, Brown &Co. were shown the door, despite still being under contract.DaveO posted:

I don't see any of them saying they were forced out or saying they wanted to stay.
