did he not say he was retiring from the gb side after the 04 tri-nations, he should never have been allowed back then.

I was on my mates stag do in Edinburgh at the weekend and one of my other mates who was there is the Sports reporter on Granada Tonight. He told me he was speaking to Scully last week and was told that after the loss to NZ Noble tore a strip off all the players in the dressing room and highlighted what went wrong. After he had finished he said that was all that needed to be said on the matter and that a line should be drawn under it. They would all train as normal the following week and prepare for the Aussies. Long wouldn't let it lie and had a few too many on the plane and squared up to Noble on the plane and had to be dragged off by another player. I know most people on here may treat this with some scepticism but I believe my mate, it's up to you to draw your own conclusions.

This is from a decent source, someone at Wigan in a top job! I will not say anymore than that! He told me a very similar story, that Long and Gleeson were both tanked up on the flight back and Long decided to have a go at Nobble! Phil Clarke (i was told he was alo on the flight) tried to calm Long down, but ended up getting a smack from Long for his efforts. He was then sent home for obvious reasons!

I also heard that, but I omitted a few names and details to protect the innocent  I can't see my mate lying to me and using Scully's name as his source. Especially as he is in a relatively high profile job in front of the camera every night on Regional tv.

I suspect Long has played his last game for GB. If he can't handle a rollocking from a coach then it is time he picked up his dummy and went home. He has only got a couple of years left in top flight rugby, then he will probably dissapear off the radar. He isn't the most elloquent person is he.

Noble did not get involved until the day after. No one was punched, Phil Clarke was not involved at anytime.
The reason Long went off on one was nothing to do with Noble shouting at the players. Long was tired he had played a bad game, they where travelling back from NZ when Long got drunk he made a bit of a rumpus on the plane but nothing much, Senior helped to calm Long down.
The day after Long would not accept any criticism about the incident and went off on one on the training pitch, Noble then became involved.
Noble then sent him home.

I don't think so, I was away most of last week when much of this was going on. I'm not the only person here with "locking" powers...
