Re: according to the website w...
I have also sent an email to the RFL, for them to add strength to our argument, to ask the FA to put pressure on Whelan to move their game to the Sunday as this is a crucial game for us.
I'm getting more and more annoyed about this situation.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

This is the official Press Release issued at 9pm tonight
The decision to not allow the game on Friday at the JJB was taken by the Stadium Company.
We are deeply disappointed at the decision but cannot change it. Under the terms of the lease, where there is a conflict, the Stadium Company has the right to decide priority.
Ian Lenagan, Chairman
Wigan Warriors Press Release
Change of Venue for Wigan Play-Off Game
For Immediate Use
Due to the non-availability of the JJB Stadium for Friday evening, September 12th, the Wigan Warriors home Play-Offs game against Bradford Bulls will now take place at another venue which is likely to be the Hobart Stadium in Widnes or the Halliwell-Jones Stadium in Warrington.
It is expected that final arrangements of venue and ticket details will be confirmed and announced on Monday 13th September but this announcement is made now with the wish to give fans as much notice as possible of the forced change. Fans should monitor the website for the announcement of details.
Wigan Chairman, Ian Lenagan, said:
“The players performed extremely well against St Helens on Friday night to earn a home game, strongly supported by the Wigan fans, and we are naturally disappointed that the JJB cannot be made available for our Play-Off game against the Bradford Bulls on Friday nightâ€.
“We have explored fully with the RFL the options of playing on Thursday or Sunday but neither is possible for competition integrity issues and we prefer to play on a North West ground of our choiceâ€.
“We are looking at all options to facilitate as many of our fans travelling on Friday since we would like to make the chosen venue as much a Wigan venue as possibleâ€.
end.

Re: according to the website w...
Two issues spring to mind, 1) IL has a poorer deal than he led us to believe re the stadium and 2) Whelan has nailed his colours firmly to the mast.
Possible tatics. Boycott the use of all JJB Stadium Company retailing. That means, nobody purchases food/drink from the JJB Stadium. Boycott Poole Pies. Picket/block the JJB Stadium, Poole Pies Outlets, Wrightington Country Club etc etc

But we cannot let this go....A BIG PROTEST OR just to cause disturbance at the stadium, it may not solve anything but will certainly show our opinions!

:eusa17: :eusa17: :eusa17: Wigan may as well have refused to play on Friday and conceded to the stains thus retaining fifth or sixth spot at that point and obtaining no injuries and keep the squad "fit and fresh" from those terrible weather conditions. That way, everyone bar the Wigan fans wouldn't have been shafted.
Either way - the fans have now been shafted! After all the "jumping through hoops" for the Man U fixture and the ground relaying - now this debacle.
I really do wonder about the club and it staff at times. Some on here only complain about the coach, I have severe doubts over the capability to run a major sporting concern of an awful lot of the staff that supposedly "do their best" for the good name (that's a laugh now
) of Wigan Warriors (part time users of the JJB stadium, when the Latics allow them!!!)

I would love to suggest disrupting the Wigan v Sunderland match unfortunately that could place people in danger. A go slow around the access roads would be best on that day.
We must Boycott stadium food and drink. Every time you purchase a drink or food at the JJB, the money goes directly to Whelan.
Pooles Pies outlets, let's close them down
