I prefer reality Ainscough was not in the 19. He was selected to play in the reserves. The same week that Ian Thornley was also dropped from the reserves to the academy.
Brian Noble has a record of only playing youngsters when forced to.

It is as plain as it can get Noble was in the wrong not naming him in the 19. It wasn't a ploy. Noble wasn't being clever. To suggest he was is, IMO, over analyzing the situation and giving him far too much credit.
Yet again a players enforced absence from the team forced Noble to play Ainscough and yet again it highlights Noble's awful selection policy.
HIs job at Wigan has been saved by two players, S Tomkins and Aiscough who have only got games when Noble had no alternative but to play them.
I can't believe there is anyone out there who thinks otherwise.
