Re: Wane contract EXTENDED
If I do a crash course in coaching, and pass, would my views be legitimate then compared to a few weeks previous? What a thick statement.
So if Wigan lose 10 on the bounce and no other coach says anything, you will still fully support Wane and expect thousands of fans to do so likewise until Millward pipes up?

Re: Wane contract EXTENDED
Although not on the official Wigan site, I heard this morning on Wish FM that Shaun has taken up the third year option on his contract.
There was an interview with Shaun to confirm this.
Sorry no link though

Warriors Confirm Wane's Contract Extension
Wigan Warriors announce that Head Coach Shaun Wane will be staying at the Club next season.
Owner and Chairman Ian Lenagan has confirmed that the Club have agreed an option in his contract for 2014.
The news is a timely boost as the Warriors prepare for Saturday's Tetley's Challenge Cup Final at Wembley against Hull FC.
Ian Lenagan said,
"We are all delighted that Shaun will be with us again next season. Shaun has done everything we have asked of him, and as far as we are concerned, it would have been silly not to take up the option.
"We can all see the input he's made on the team and the way the players have responded to having Shaun as the Head Coach."
Shaun was appointed to the position of Head Coach in October 2011 and in his first year in charge Wigan were crowned League Leaders' Shield winners. This season the Warriors are currently third in the Super League table and face the Airlie Birds on Saturday in the showpiece Final looking to win the Challenge Cup for the second time in three years.

Good stuff, i'd rather have Waney than some other inept coach that would have us mid table or below, certain people on here seem to think we have a god given right to success and because the wheels have come off for a few games they think Wane is not suitable for the job, if certain injuries had not occured we would still be in 1st place or 2nd at least with a chance of regaining 1st, do people want to go back to the days of Nobby, i think not, if we don't win silverware then that's the way she goes, as long as the team has given their best throughout the year then surely no one has the right to complain

Re: Wane contract EXTENDED
It is as simple as this for me, if we win the CC or GF or both then he deserves another year, if we fail to win either then sorry it is time to change. Sport is about winning things (something the British Public seem to forget sometimes) so if SW does then I don't care how we got there or how bad we looked getting there, we won something. On the other hand if we don't win anything, again I don't care how good we looked getting there or how we got there, we didn't win a trophy!!

Correct decision all things considered.
I agree with CP/Dave O on certain things regarding tactics that Wane has fallen down on but ultimately hes...
Improved our style of play
Brought through many youngsters
Got us to Wembley
In a very similar play off position to last year
All that combined with the fact that most people had written us off this year after the lack of experienced quality replacing the 'stars' I think he's done a good job.
Fingers crossed for the Wembley win this weekend
