I think we have been dire to watch for a lot of games, but there have been breaks in the clouds. Given the circumstances, I will take being equal top at this stage.
There is a lot to like with our back 5 - even without Sam, they have skill and speed everywhere, which will be an even bigger factor as the grounds harden up. A back 5 of Sam - Manfredi - Gelling - Gildart/Sarg - Charnley is the best and most exciting in the league.
I even wonder whether, if Smith were to get injured and Sam play with Williams in the halves, Smith would get back in at 7... With those there, and Sarg at 1, we shouldn't be short of entertainment then!

I wrote about this in evening post around time Salford game moved. Can't recall exact figures but games on weekends had dropped from 60%ish 2010 (still majority despite a Friday home club) to about 25% this season. I've already seen good fans drop away from going. I think it's a massive, massive problem and know some good fans who have given up with these constant Thursday games especially.

Perhaps we should now consider moving back to Saturdays seeing that Sundays have become no different to other days apart from families in Summer being more inclined to go to a attraction other than Rugby or even a restaurant.

Saturday is still the main day in Football with the exception of televised games or clubs playing on a Sunday because of being in a Euro competition.

We should be doing the same ie. all games played on the same day with the exception of Sky televised games.

We have Challenge Cup games on a Saturday if televised by the BBC and the crowds are no different to other weekend days.
