He did some coaching at Wigan when he was in rehab for his injury over here. He used our facilities for his injury's as he said the at the NZ Warriors the rehab facilities were very poor compared to Wigan.
This was also commentated on by Sam on his return.

Well im pretty sure weve signed Tommy for next year its even in the papers now. What I would say though is he was awesome a few years back for Wigan such a big hitter for a little dude but Iw ouldnt want him to come back and take Powell's place because I definitely think he's earned his stripes. Although there is a case for moving Powell back to his favoured scrum half position. Can you imagine having a number 7 who can actually tackle a player, oh the luxury. I know Smith has been decent in the last couple of games credit where credit is due but consistency is his issue and a whisper Ive heard is he could be on his way to stains next year regardless of his contract length so that might tie in with Tommy too.

As for the winger speculation Solomona would be a dream signing not sure if Cas will let their shining light go so will believe this on when it hits the media. I can't see past Budgie coming back to Wigan it has to be him.

I wouldn't be wild about TL replacing Smith either. Bang goes our kicker, for a start! If we *are* going to replace Matty Smith, it doesn't want to be with an ageing crock.
Sorry Tommy. :)

Interchange hooker/part-time coach? Fine as long as it doesn't take up too much of our SC. But full-time 7? Nope.

Wigan Warriors are said to be interested in tempting Super League's top tryscorer Denny Solomona away from rivals Castleford.

Solomona scored 2 tries against the Warriors last Thursday to take his tally to 20 for the season so far and Shaun Wane is very keen to sign the former London Broncos winger to replace Josh Charnley who will switch codes next year with Sale Sharks.

Comfortable at full back or on the wing the 22 year old Kiwi star will command a big transfer fee as he only signed a new 3 year deal at Wheldon Road last November, tying him to the Tigers until 2018.
Daryl Powell said then that Solomona could become the best winger in Super League, something he's arguably achieved already. He would surely have also been the leagues top scorer in 2015 if injury hadn't robbed him of vital games and also cost his side a place in the top 4.

The West Yorkshire club already look to have singled out their replacement for Luke Dorn , who is retiring at the end of the season ,with rumours that Greg Eden could be coming back to Super League with the Tigers next season.
The 25 year old made his Super League debut for Cas in 2011 before moving to Huddersfield, where he was tagged the new Billy Slater., altogether he played over 70 games in 4 years in Super League scoring 40 tries during spells at Huddersfield, Hull KR and Salford.
In 2015 he moved to the NRL with Brisbane Broncos, only playing one game last year but has been more involved with 4 games and one try so far in 2016

I must admit I am firmly in the "keep away from him" camp as far as recruiting TL is concerned. What happened in the past is exactly that, the past. He was not a great scrum half by any means and it took Wayne Bennett (who was coaching NZ at that time) moving him to hooker that saw TL's form improve dramatically.

Now, after a couple of injury hit seasons and the wrong side of 30, bringing him back does not fill me with confidence that the lack of creativity our team needs will be fixed. We all loved his massive "hits" and his running from dummy half BUT shoulder charges have since been outlawed and we as a team do virtually no scoots by design. He would be redundant and simply moving a youngster sideways just to accommodate him would be a bad mistake.

Either sign a quality scrum half and let Powell fill in as a hooker, who can also cover and as and when needed between stand off and scrum half.

As medlocke suggested, Feka is also out of contract. How about bringing him back if this is to become nothing but an "old boys reunion"?

As for Solomona.

Not many great proven wingers in the British game. Tom Johnstone looks a good prospect but Denny Solomona looks the real deal and would be great with Manfredi on the other wing.
