Brown was involved with most of the tries. Sculthorpe had his best game this season, probably to do with the fact he was on the pitch for longer than 10minutes. Aspinwall, carney and wild were all quiet and i think its obvious that wild isnt a centre, i'd like millward to start gleeson and drop wild, because i didnt think we saw enough of him to judge him on that short performance. Hargreaves was all over the place tackling, which is a good thing. Newton was anything but quiet i thought, he hasn't his usual short tempered self which seems to have brought his game into a quieter mode i think, i'd like to see a bit of that newton anger back in him.warrior till i die posted:Were you watching the same game as me? Moran average he was brilliant had a hand in every try i think. Sculthorpe looked very lively and made yards and he also played most of the game.Schalk Brits... posted:
Got to agree with PnB.
Moran and Brown very average if not erratic.
Aspinwall non-existant
Wild isn't a centre.
Sculthorpe is a liability.
Newton quiet.
Rads and Carney making basic errors.
Hargreaves does't defend in his channel he's all over the place
Several players went O.K.Tickle(needs to cut out pens),Dallas finished well and Godwin looked quite promising

Re: Today's Game
I didnt think Moran kicked the ball at the game, but watching it at home i think he just about gets his foot to it and then a Salford player knocks it towards the try line with his hands. I dont think scully raised his elbow more than he usually does, its just his running style but i agree we could be without him for one or two matches.

Your constant gripes over the ref (whom ever they are) is silly and verging on the paranoid!
(a) how long was Tickle in contact for his 2 "lying-on" penalties, compared to so many of their tackles? (not saying he shouldn't have been penalised, but it should be the same for both teams)
(b) did you count less than 6 high tackles (3 on Dallas, 2 on Sculthorpe, one on Hargreaves) that went unpunished?
(c) did Hodgson have a foot in touch when palming back that Moran penalty?
(d) Did Tickle touch the ball when penalised for offside?
(e) was Dallas held back by Stewart when going for that loose ball near their tryline?

Re: Today's Game
good points there geoffn and i'm sure more could be found if we looked more closely. I thought tickle was sort of victimised in that game and on only one occasion deserved to be penalised and thats when he had his hand in the guys face at play the ball, other than that i thought he did no wrong. The high tackles were appalling and should have been sorted, from both teams.GeoffN posted:Perhaps so...watch the video again and tell me:-Doveoverdave posted:

i thought rads looked off from the start.hopefully it,s a one off
Re: Today's Game
what i liked was when wigan were struggling and Millward had a word with Moran. From then he was first reciever something we havent had this year and controlled the game.
Ive not seen any other coach do that for us go pitchside like that.
Liked the Dallas try, not many people make Hodgson look that silly.
Stick with Brown for me. Orr is never as good as that at 6 and will find it hard to get back in. Like the way he used Newton in the second row as it kept his pressence on the field.
Well played there Millward!!

Re: Today's Game
I am really glad we won, not convincingly, but 2 points are very important. It's the first step on the road to recovery and we've got a long way to go.

Watch the video and view it through Salford's eyes and you'll pick up just as many incidents that Salford could complain about.GeoffN posted:Perhaps so...watch the video again and tell me:-Doveoverdave posted:

I'll repeat it one more time 50/50 we get our fair share of calls.
By the way Geoff I wouldn't alter my prediction on the coupon because of who the ref is!!
And I'll answer Mrs C while on the subject.
No I don't think any ref is biased in SL.
