When were Wire last league champions?
I know I was born then but I don't know what year it was and I've no recollection of it.
They won the C Cup 3 times in the recent past and have lost a few Grand Finals.

We did ok last year with Powell doing 80 mins. That in spite of injuries all over the place. Didn't Matty Smith had 6 different stand offs alongside him?
Last Friday reminded me of the 2015 GF, We ended both games with MM coming on for the last 20 and the team had nothing to offer.

I do think after certain games, like winning a semi, Wane gives them a few days off. We played Sunday, perhaps they had Monday and Tuesday off. Had a hangover training session Wednesday, Captains run Thursday then on the bus to Leeds.
Leeds played liked they'd lost the semi, consoled themselves with a drink over the weekend them turned up Monday and trained the house down all week knowing it was Wigan at home Friday. They were so much faster than us it was unreal.

Wane won't go anywhere, although this Friday v Hudds the pressure will mount if we lose. If we lose poorly then it may become unpleasant. A good win and all will be well, a narrow win and it'll do!

The way we play is awful to watch it's boring, predictable, non existent attack, shocking defence, I'd rather watch paint dry.
the same attack that is on 539, and over a hundred tries?
our season has been let down by the Appalling defense. i agree THIS season has boring to watch but thats because we have not seen many breaks or exciting plays ( odd one here or there) but when nothing is clicking you go back to basics which in itself is a boring style. .

who would we replace Wane with, he has the ability to get alot out of players (look how many project players have come in and gone onto better things because of him)

Wane was in everyone sites since he replaced Madge and has lived in his shadow since, maybe it is time to go but he is Nowhere near as bad as the "clique" claim and his record back it up. please show me a team with as many injuries as we had last year that walked away with a GF win at the end of the year? that wasn't just because we have "the Best youth" that required Good Coaching/adapting tactics and style to make the best of what you've got.

TACTICS! dont make me laugh, we have no tactics never have with wane about from 'it em 'ard.

Yes it was because we have the best youth, its the same reason we got by this year. We have chucked away winning positions on the regular by abysmal game management and things like not taking 2 gift points. We havent addressed any of the areas that made us weak like a goal kicker - all these things Wane is in charge of and all the things he's failing at.

Everyone here wanted Wane to be a success but we have got progressively worse season after season under his tenure, im not talking about place in the league alone im talking about the way we play. There is a reason people cite the attack being so poor.

The league has flattered Wane by the whole competition capitulating. In the season we nearly got relegated our win percentage was 42%, its currently 41% and we could still mathematically by champions

in fact if we do become champions lets say by winning all the remaining games the best win % we can hope for is 56%. So we can become champions of the superleague in a season we pretty much lost half the games we played in - thats the state of the league - and we are 8th

Look at the win % of the regular season
Under Madge
2010 - 84%
2011 - 74%

Under Wane
2012 - 77%
2013 - 62%
2014 - 66%
2015 - 65% rising to 66% in the super 8's
2016 - 69% rising to 70% in the super 8's
2017 - 43% max possible in the super 8's 53%

Wanes first season after Madge was his best since then the team hasnt been back to that level

E.G. Should have not should of!

Thank you ????????
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Our attack hasn't looked the best this year but it can't have been that awful as we are second in the try scoring charts! The biggest issue has been our defence, which is unusual for a Wane team but then again we have also been missing some of our better players for the majority of the season. I can't understand what some people are expecting, we can't win every match, we can't be the champions every year, every now and then things aren't going to go in our favour, yet Wane has still managed to take us to a final in a truly awful year. We may win, we may not, that's just how it goes. We don't have a God given right to win everything. To get rid of Wane now would be a mistake imo. You have to give him chance next year, with a full squad plus any new additions and if then we are in the same position that is when changes need to be made.

So?

How many of those tries have been scored when the game has been lost?

20 nil up against Wakefield at home and lose

34 points against a newly promoted team and STILL lose

Majority of points have been scored when the opposition have tired or Wigan have thrown the "gameplan" out the window and decide to try and gain some semblance of respectability from another shambles of a performance.

These are more the reasons why we have scored the 100 tries you are so proud of

You yourself admit things are not good - those words are yours. Who do you blame for the poor defence?

The biggest Room is the Room for improvement.

The best form of defence is attack!!
