Re: Lam Out!
John Winder our attack coach appears to be avoiding an awful lot of flack.
For me that is where our fault lies.
Our attack has been garbage since he took over from Deacon

Re: Lam Out!
Love it.
One breath, we need people that has a good coaching record that have done the time and earned the right.
Next breath
Apart from if it's Wane or Peet, no let's look at a random NRL assistant who cares who.
Wane would steady this ship, and honestly if you can't get a shot at the top job what is the point of becoming and assistant coach?
Can you imagine if someone told you, you have no shot at a promotion because you've worked your way up and put the time in while being loyal to the company.

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Deacon escaped flak for "waneball" our attack declined when Harris left.Tricky Dicky1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 9:22 am John Winder our attack coach appears to be avoiding an awful lot of flack.

Re: Lam Out!
Promoting people because they have been with an organisation for years or just because they have been good at a number of different jobs working their way up is no reason to keep promoting people. That's how some people end up being promoted to their maximum level of incompetence (The Peter Principle).
Just because you have been a good youth coach or assistant (or a top player) it doesn't mean you can be a top head coach.
Sums up Wigan to a tee at the movement as a jobs for the boys attitude gives you the same result. The perfect example being Rads with his job.

How is Rads a perfect example? If you lDaveO wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 5:04 pmPromoting people because they have been with an organisation for years or just because they have been good at a number of different jobs working their way up is no reason to keep promoting people. Look at wigans success while he's been in role it's looks like he's done well,
I'm not saying he has or hasn't only that ultimately his role has been to contribute to success at wigan and he has done.

Never promote anyone then? Seems logical.DaveO wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 5:04 pmPromoting people because they have been with an organisation for years or just because they have been good at a number of different jobs working their way up is no reason to keep promoting people. Dave o is spot on with that post. If you disagree you are a happy clapper for sure.
Whatever happened to Billy McGinty's pineapple?
Re: Lam Out!
Just pointing out that Dave's argument seems to suggest that if you don't have experience in a job, but you do have relevant experience in other more junior roles, then you should not be given a chance to prove you are also able to perform well in the more senior role. How would anyone be promoted to anything in that circumstance. Its not a rugby thing, just an in general thing.East Stand Faithful wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 10:55 pm Dave o is spot on with that post. Re: Lam Out!
You’ve got to have that, for want of a better word “spark” surely, something that sets you aside from other people, like his tactics or not Wane had that something and frankly over performed with the Wigan squad.Mike wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 11:36 pmJust pointing out that Dave's argument seems to suggest that if you don't have experience in a job, but you do have relevant experience in other more junior roles, then you should not be given a chance to prove you are also able to perform well in the more senior role. I’ve no issue at all promoting from within but there has to have that “spark”,another uncomfortable truth is Wigan brought Lam in from outside a blind man can see it isn’t working so they where always likely to look inwards for the next coach,if indeed that is the case,if not we’ll who knows?
Re: Lam Out!
There is a small chance, and I mean small, that Lam leaving at the end of the season will be announced before the weekend, This is being considered if we get Embarrassed off Leeds in front of a low crowd. Big wigs lost faith in him a few months ago, rumblings between the players that some have also lost faith in him. I cant however see him leaving the role before the end of the season, but stranger things have happened.
