Is this likely or can Waney just imply that he would have picked him to help us out? MIssing five games at the start of next season would make him even less value for money although perhaps you could argue that he'll at least get a good off season if he misses the World Cup.

Re: Bateman
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Bateman
The difference being that they wouldn't ban their international player for the WC in this scenario no matter what he'd done...
Re: Bateman
Wigan put a 350,000 transfer fee on bateman from the west tigers. Tigers fans want to get it done. Would be a miracle if we can get him off the cap and get a fee as well

Re: Bateman
Exactly. Even though the Aussies are not really interested in International RL

Re: Bateman
I'm pretty sure he has a £200k (ish) clause in his contract
Re: Bateman
I cant imagine them paying that, I can see him going for a smaller fee if he indicates a desire to leave, however I've heard nothing of the sorts, I'm also pretty sure all that speculation was quashed at one of the fans forums.
