Trying hard not to over react, as it’s only the first game of the season, but I agree with all the criticisms made.
I think this is possibly the weakest pack of forwards I’ve ever seen playing for Wigan, and I’ve been watching since 1966!
What really rubbed it in was seeing a scintillating performance from Saints earlier: commitment enthusiasm fitness fantastic defence aggression skill, I could go on.
I have a strong belief that weakness at the top shows itself in team performance. Weak and second rate recruitment suggests to me that mr Radlinski, nice guy and all, is probably out of his depth.
Can anyone imagine Maurice putting up with the crap served up to the fans today?

I have said for several seasons now Radlinski is out of his depth. Retains players who aren’t good enough or are too old and the recruitment is baffling at times. We must be the only SL side that has a full overseas quota with three of them not considered first choice players. This has also resulted in the club’s inability to recruit a replacement for Bateman. The overseas quota is full and so any recruit would have to be British so who is going to give us a good British forward during the season?

The Bateman saga itself was another example of him being out of his depth. Bateman supposedly told in July he was going nowhere and nothing more would be discussed and next thing the clubs dancing to his tune even agreeing to wait until after the world cup to sort it out and then he’s gone. Useless.

The better team won. There are some simple fixes. Better line speed in defence, I can’t for the life of me why we don’t try and incorporate the Saints model into our game. Secondly, run harder. Our forwards were poor today, they have got to do the grunt and get our backs into good areas on the field. Thirdly, Field has got to be more vocal at fullback, we were outnumbered consistently on our right flank. Fourthly, cut out the errors particularly in our own half. Fourthly, get numbers into the tackle and slow the play the ball down. Finally, improve our kicking game.

In other words get the basics right and we will be fine.

Every other team in super league has strengthened their pack I feel that with the loss of Bateman and no replacement signed ours is weakened and with both mago and Ellis underperforming I feel this is an area that does need some urgent attention

And also as I forgot to mention we have what I call ordinary journeymen forwards in opposing teams playing ours off the park I feel we have a big problem hope it gets fixed quickly.

Matty peet in his post match report stated that some of our defence was not up to it but as we had new combinations it would take time to settle but most Warrington fans will tell you that Toby King can’t tackle we will get found out on our right edge if we don’t fix it these comments are by suzies hubby who is a coach 😄😄😄😄
