He should be penalised for being off side as he is over the half way line when he kicks it and therefore it should be a penalty, you 'in theory' should not put the ball/kicking tee over the half way line and some refs used to make players move the ball back when they did, sadly now nobody bothers anymore excpet in the amateur game.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 3:30 pm You have also got to question why Sinfield was allowed to stand in front of the ball when he is taking that kick off, he is gaining an advantage.

Newman is a year older and Smithies has controlled himself a lot better for well over a year, maybe 2 by now. Smithies has developed into one of the leagues best loose forwards. Newman still has a lot of room for development and I don't mean that in a complimentary way.
