Awful performance from the team, no need to panic but hopefully this will spur us on into the next game.
Don’t understand why Peet didn’t use Byrne abit more, if he doesn’t trust him don’t pick him, we needed all four subs today in this humidity.
Farrimond for me needs a break, he’s only young but looked abit out of place the last couple of games and looks vulnerable in defence. He will be a good player but still needs spelling out of the first team.

In situations like this it's always interesting to read the comments.

Ignoring the usual ref blaming, and the singling out of individuals, I think a result like this is to be expected at some stage given the intensity of the season so far: WCC, Cup Final, Saints last week, Wire next week.

With hindsight (and the result itself is of little consequence when we are 2 or 3 wins clear of the chasing pack), I think we would have been better to have played a reserve team today and rest a lot of our players. The mental or psychological side of hitting the heights week-in week-out must be draining.

And, make no mistakes, today's result was a team failure - and that includes the coaches. The good thing is, I'm sure they'll analyse and learn from it.

The good news is that Saints are 3 points clear of the top 3.

We were due a loss. We've got away with a few sub par performances this year (Salford away first time, Cas away off the top of my head). It caught up with us today, hopefully it's timely and we learn.

It was a mirror of hull kr in April, soft in contact. You tend to know if we're on our game if our defence starts well in the first 20. Today will be forgotten about if we get the win on Friday.

One of those days. We were truly rubbish for 65 mins and still nearly squeaked a win. Its not worth singling out players for me, because there was a lack of quality across the board. Too many mistakes, poor decisions and missed tackles. Just one of those days I reckon.

I'm not sure if any league winning team managed to go through a season and finish unbeaten in SL, and usually when they lost it wasn't to a rival, but a lower league away game. We seem to do it every year as well. Lets hope its a standard blip and we convert the Leigh game to restore our margin.

I’ll single out one player, Byrne. I thought that he was excellent in his cameo spell. I think the coaching staff made an error in not introducing him earlier, he improved both our defensive speed and go forward. I expect him to start against Warrington. As a team, I think we have a better balance in the pack when Havard is used as an interchange forward.

Yes that was another useless performance but this was in my view worse. They only played for 10 minutes and nearly won. A first 40 of nothing but competent RL would have seen off a very poor Hull side.

I agree, but I’d sooner lose to a Hull or a Wakefield than a Saints, HKR or Wire! 😊

Hello all,

Wigan Fan long time here just joined ntmu all,

Watched the replay tonight as missed it live. With all the comments on here I don’t think we were terrible. Too many knock ons and bad decisions by Smith, but I was in placebo until 60 mins where Wigan picked it up. With all that has been said on here about Eckersley, I reckon he had a solid game and is still the best choice for fullback until Jai is back, then we really have options. Wardle as well, just wow, what a world class centre. We need to really look after him so the Aussies don’t pinch him. Best centre in SL by far. Well pick it up, different story next week!
