I distinctly remember you and one or two others posting thinly veiled rumours about a certain recently-retired player coming back quite a few weeks ago... well done for the early scoop!

Why does he have to play for free? How can we be at our salary cap limit yet still be making bids for the likes of PJ?

Well, I agree with you on that point. Rads' retirement at the start of the year will have freed up a large sum in the salary cap, and I'm still not convinced our procession of loan signings and lower-league players will have used up all of that. Now he's back, he's hardly going to be claiming that full-season salary again, there's less than half a season to go. It would be interesting to know if we've paid Moran's contract up or not, or whether the fact he has signed for Widnes relieves us of the obligation to do so? If we haven't, then there's more money as there is no way Dobson will be on the same money as Moran.

When ML says our salary cap is full, is he referring to the £1.75m, or to 20/20 slots? I suspects these may now be full, but as you say Jimmy there has to be some money left if we were going for players for this season, I can't see PJ offering to play for nothing!

THANKS KRIS

What if a star player with a huge salary is injured and can not play for may be 7 months of the season. It could be possible to get round the salary cap if a whisper comes in the ear " Why don't you retire" If your injury heals you can always come back. By the way you have been such a wonderful servent to the club we are going to give you a present. Sorry we can't pay you your salary but if you count up all the pennies in your present it just might add up to what you would of been paid if you were a paid player. By the way think on what the value of this present is and if you do decide to come back I think it would be a wonderful gesture if you said you will play for free. Just a story mind you its all fiction based on ifs and buts.
