excellent signing as i posted monday the deal was done last sunday ther reason the didnt announce it was bradford wanted the calm before the storm ie new sponsorship deal they have nearly pulled themselves out of the red in a week
Well done for getting the scoop. I'm sure you can understand why some of us were skeptical, and I think the Bradford chairman is going to have a lot of explaning to do to their fans about all that's gone on this season, the financial problems that have necessitated them getting £1m in a week, and the loss of their successful coach and players even when they have said no-one is going.

thanks what i have been told is bradfords backers have been putting a bit of pressure on to bring a bit of money in looks like they have had to use there main assets ie ground and top players i think if i was the chairman i would try and keep top players going hush hush

I can understand the financial backers wanting things straightened up a bit, and to be honest I'd rather Whelan spent his money in RL than on his other hobbies, even if it does go to a rival club. If Bradford can now move on without having financial worries then the sport will benefit in the long-term. But the fans might need to convinced of all that, they've got used to success and perhaps won't be happy to see their biggest, home-grown stars moving on (hmmm, why does that sound very familiar to me?!) even if it helps to secure the future of the club.

Nobby confirms he IS playing tomorrow, according to Sporting Life. :D Love Dave Whelan's quote about if Nobby wants any other player we'll go and get him, as well. Just like the old days!

I don't know about a lot of explaining to do to their fans I think their chairman has a lot of explaining to do to Grattan!

You just hand over £500K in sponsorship and then the club you have agreed to sponsor sells the best player in the side!

Their chairman must have known of this when announcing the sponsorship so I hope he told Grattan for the Bulls sake as this is close to insider dealing type stuff.

Arguably (and I'd argue he is) the best prop forward in the world, and he's at Wigan!!
I have enjoyed watching this fella play for Bradford, wishing he was in the cherry and white.

Probably THE best possible signing.

Gobsmacked when the missus told me, and I've been grinning ever since.

This quote from the bulls chairman reminded me of something else:
"When a player tells his head coach he no longer wants to play for the club, then we are dealing with an extraordinary situation in which the club has little option but to consider letting him go," he said.

In the current era where players sign supposedly fixed term contracts where they become free agensts at the end, I think the above is a long way off the truth.

He had 18 months to go on his deal at Bradford and had Bradford been OK on the cash front I doubt they would have entertained the deal and would have told Fielden to get on with the job.

Which is what we should have done with Farrell
