DaveO once again you continually contradict yourself and in my opinion dont really offer anything new in your response so this will probably be my last post on this thread. It is okay for you to talk about points averages to try and prove your point but if I do you decide that its not valid. You have continually been presented with evidence and hard facts by numerous people but time and time again you refuse to accept it because you think your opinion is more valid. You really couldnt make it up. :lol:You also seem obsessed about talking about what could happen or what may have happened rather than what has actually happened.

I have yet to see you say that Ainscough is at fault for anything, or even acknowledge that he has a weakness, in any of your posts about him. Instead you would rather scratch around for excuses and rarely come up with any evidence to back up what you say. Even worse when people do provide facts/evidence you simply dismiss it because in your opinion it is wrong. From what you say Ainscough must have fallen victim to the biggest set of coincidences in RL history if even half the excuses about him playing poorly/conceeding tries are true. You really do need to take the rose tinted glasses off.

Looking at RLfans a fairly reliable poster on there thinks that he has been dropped due to his poor display last week and replaced by Pryce. The fact that he has been sent on loan to Widnes seems to back this up. I also think the fact that Castleford did not want him back also speaks volumes about his performances there. As I said in an earlier post Maguire will be the judge of if Ainscough did well or not against Harelequins and I respect his opinion far more than anyone on here. If Pryce does indeed get the nod, a player he chose not to pick the week before, indicates that Ainscough played poorly in Maguires eyes and didnt take his chance. However I suppose the fact that he has been sent away on loan shows this anyway.

By the way I didnt call you a fool. I said, "Despite this only a fool would try and argue that Ainscough and Goulding are anywhere near as quick as Penny in a straight race." After the tone of your posts directed at me there is plenty that I could take offence at so I would get off your high horse.

It is truly laughable to suggest a winger made the difference.
Yes there could have been other factors but Salford at the time Goulding went had a real weakness on the fringes. It was well documented that Salford were vulnerable out wide and conceding points there. Goulding improved that team and made a SIGNIFICANT difference to the defence of Salford who as Dave rightly says were a weak team, possibly weaker than Cas where Ainscough has not made any difference whatsoever.
Exactly CP. I have concluded though that there is simply no point in continuing this anymore. If conclusive facts are considered laughable as opposed to talking about mythical things that may have happened, such as Goulding slowing down in 2 years to Harvey Howard proportions (its funny how DaveO doesnt even contemplate that he may have got quicker - I wonder why) or the extraordinary coincidence of the Salford defence improving to Melbourne Storm proportions and Stuart Littler becoming Greg Inglis in the 9 games that Goulding was there, an occurance which was obviously nothing to do with Goulding (joke btw Dave). Funnily enough though they turned back into Runcorn Highfield in the games before and after this :o

Really???
When he got the ball he scored
BUT how can anyone make a difference if they don't get the ball!!!!! Must have been frustrating for him.

As for Goulding he is a good player but I agree with some of the others on here he has had a strong defensive team with him to support him and unfortunately for Shaun he wasn't given that luxury...left out there on his own. It wasn't a great game for him but it was great for the ANTI- Ainscough brigade.
To be honest I wonder why the Wigan " Fans" always attack the home grown talent.
I know someone's going to say that's not true look at SAM but look at Sam's position. Protection all around to save his errors, not out on a wing.

Fan nobody wants Wigan youngsters to come through more than I do. I even get accused of supporting them too much BUT neither are Wiganers fools either. They know good RL and good players. Ultimately though a Wigan team is about the best team being out there wherever they come from.

I don't think your every other youngsters gets protected holds up very well. Sam T had to defend on the right last season despite being a lefty. Goulding got plenty of criticism from fans when he made mistakes. He went out on loan and IMPROVED his game and came back and players excellent. Lee Mossop dropped told to improve. he did back in the team. Ainsy currently shows no sign of improving.
