It's interesting in the photography in the press if you look Joel has his right arm with the ball but his left arm/hand is in front of this so called foearm/elbow and actually pushing Yeoman's face upward.

Carvell's raised elbow at the start of last season looked a dead cert for a minimum of a two match ban, yet Smith had the balls to appeal.
Lets hope Wigan apply the same mentallity here, and not be walked all over.

Exactly normally when a player uses an illegal elbow / forearm it is with the non ball carrying arm. The open palm of Joel's left hand is the first point of contact and on a single / double TV camera via Micron it looks far worse. You also have Joel Tomkins doing that approach to contact 20+ times in every game when taking the ball up.
As a side issue I think Joel too readily takes the contact rathern than hitting the gap and when he hits that gap he looks awesome as he did last season v Wakey ?

IMO the strongest parts of Joel's game are his ability to hit the gap and get through it at pace, plus his offload once through the gap.
Sadly we have seen little of this of late.

Is that maximum six games then Josie?
Wigan, as a club, MUST defend this or we are going to be walked over all season.

The charge for fighting has only been added very recently. The maximum he can get is four games, although that would be blatantly ridiculous (although not impossible considering the RFL).
Joel's charge for leading with the forearm/elbow should be in line with the punishment given to Carvell for the same offence (1 match, overturned on appeal). And for fighting should be judged man to man confrontation and no further action necessary (as has been the case many times in the past).
Unless you play for Wigan.

No idea Jon, don't think the RFL Disciplinary Committee know either, they make it up as they go along.
But hey, it's Wigan players!!! It could end up as eight - ten who knows
BTW - how have you gone on with your hat?

On the subject of making it up as they go along, i thought the disciplinary comittee could only investigate on a Tuesday what was handed to it by the Match Review Comittee on a Monday.
Or are the Match Review comittee working over time?
