Finchy was not happy how his father Robert Finch was treated by the NRL either.

S.W. stated on GMR this evening at the end of the Rugby League Show that an offer has been made re Finchs' contract and as yet, they're waiting a reply from him(or his agent). Also an offer has been put to Matty Smith and still awaiting a reply from him.

There is no doubt we need to pull out all the stops to keep brett finch. It's not just what he does with the ball in his hand, and his general organising of the team.Ihave noticed how much he does with the younger players, giving advice and encouragement during the game.Noticed it on friday night, and he had aword with josh charnley when he missed the goal right on half time at the Etihad, before heading down the tunnel.Total professional.

We have always commented on that too. Last week v Saints Sam rollocked Gelling for making a big error then Finchy went over & put his arm round the guy to give him, as you say, advice & encouragement.
Great guy

i dont post much on here as i prefer just to read others opinions, but i too hope he stays, the way he talks to younger players and senior players is something we have been missing for a long time, even if those words are "well done lad" or "come you can do better next time" that is what players like to hear out on the pitch and something i cant remember any other senior player doing for a good few years,

My guess would be we are waiting for a replacement before he announces hes going. Were probably just ironing out the details as we speak
