Slightly off topic but would rule out one potential name being passed around as a possible recruit. I have heard that Warrington are set to sign Danny Kirmond

I get your overall point, but doesn't your £800k calculation also assume that the young lads who have developed this year (Sam P, Crosby, Taylor, Dudson, Hughes, Logan, Burke etc) stay on the same pay? Surely a chunk of that must go to them if we're not going to repeat the mistakes of the past (i.e. losing the likes of Long, Robinson, Brown and others - in part because we tried to keep them on low pay for too long).
Good point, there will be some players that receive incremental increases (some dependant on performance), but that will still leave us a massive amount of cap to invest on new players.
Long and Robinson didn't leave because of the money!

Hard to say. Briscoe seems to enjoy pissing people around, Hull, Leeds, St Helens, Wigan, NRL, RU and still no decision as to his future.
