He has a lot of passion and good luck to him at the snakes if it is true... lets hope and pray it is.

Yet he was missing for the widnes game which was the worse preformence from wigan this year and id say that was down to him not playing.

At least with wakefield we had an excuse.

Hes apparenrtly so poor he became a england international was offered the captancy at salford but chose wigan. Was given a long contract and has been so poor Saints apperently want him back.

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Better still, wouldn't it be more poetic were he to win the Harry Sunderland for us against the team he is set to join?

Indeed it would,i do wonder though what he will do when he returns, ive said before the nightmasrish scenario of him leading Saints round the park on good friday next season,Wigan fans muttering to themselves "why didnt he do that for wigan" when in truth he is a far better player than many give credit for,not the best ever to play for Wigan but more than good enough.

Wire routinely charge kicks down. Whether it is a good ploy ? Whilst I would not say his defence is amazing I do not recall him letting us down v Wire.

It is easy to highlight a particular error but you have to take it in context. Sam T had a decent game v Wire but he missed a few tackles YET like the entire XVII they all played very well v Wire IMO.

As someone has said,a massive improvement from the Widnes game when Matty didn't play, but also the huge improvement in Jake Shorrocks since then. He's learning fast.If Saints do want Matty that is possibly the reason .

Do you think that Smith was the difference?

Smith the difference when we lost to Widnes? Absolutely.

The first Widnes player binned was with 24 mins to go. We then had a pen around 30 yards out 15 yards wide of the sticks.
Smith would have gone for goal, got the 2 on offer, levelled the score and taken the pressure off as we then wouldn't have been chasing the game.
Widnes then would have faced a team no longer under that pressure for 10 minutes having only 12 men.

Instead, we ran the pen, kept the pressure on ourselves which lost us the game.

I think we all noticed when 2 were on offer early doors at Wire we took the 2 points on both occasions.

Yes,steadies the team ,Shorrocks was all at sea against Widnes, but what an improvement at wire .If Walsh is leaving Saints will need that steadying influence, and someone to bring youngsters on.That was my point. However it is still all based on rumour.Like the lady said "you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone".
