Spoke to Mike Cooper after the game last night & congratulated him on his try.

Asked him how he is fitting in at Wigan, he replied ‘I’m still finding my feet but I can’t believe what a club Wigan are!’ He added ‘Everyone has made me feel so welcome, it’s just incredible. You always think your own club is the best but what I’ve experienced here so far at Wigan just shows that they really are! I’m loving it.’

Cooper had some strong carries in the 2nd half, exactly the sort of post contact hard yards we've needed from a prop in the past few years.

It didn't seem possible but there was one angle which showed him clearly grounding the ball. Thought he had a really good match.

Same as Mago's, in that the camera view they mostlly showed didn't prove anything, and looked a bit dubious, but in both cases, there was a camera angle that showed the ball being grounded.

16 carriers for 136 m. I believe only one other performance from our props from every game this season matches this or betters it. Stats show he’s been a top 5 prop in the league this year. It could be a signing we look back on at the year with huge importance
