Barely any top level experience between our top 3 coaches.

It shows.

Rubbish. This year our defence is letting us down Briers had nothing to do with that.

We weren’t and saying we were excuses terrible rugby from us - the ref was bad both ways but wigan lost that game all on their own
French taking that stupid drop goal attempt on 4th tackle…

Field not realising the tackle count wasn’t reset…

Smith constantly just kicking the ball and hoping for the best the whole game but worst of all right at the end rather than trying a chip over the top.

Dumb rugby throughout
Just about as dumb as it could have been. Reminds me of Wigan, circa 1980 and the Bamford years.

We look absolutely clueless in attack in all areas of the pitch.

Smiths kicking was fine. In the first half they struggled with it but when we went to 12 men it allowed them to have 3 players in the back and collect every kick.

Some odd decisions from the ref both ways but the bottom line is Wigan weren’t good enough.

For me the performance sums up Wigan in the Lenegan era ….. average at best. Lots of effort, not enough quality.

On the bigger picture, the salary cap has brought all the teams down to a similar level, but whether that’s been good for the game …..

Awful tactics again. Can peet actually see what is going on? We could have won that game if we played smarter rugby and played out our sets. Not a clue what Smith was thinking kicking from the 30 metre line with 2 tackles left in golden point. Might as well have just given them the ball on our 20.

To name but a few!

Wigan could of easily won that game with a bit of smarts but yet again we are let down by having no idea how to play tricky conditions or calm ourselves

And before anyone starts with Powell being a leader and missing give your head a wobble he is nothing of the sort

Basically wigan like many teams are full of athletes but very few rugby heads.

I look back to the times of long, sinfield, briers, deacon and lam and you just don’t see any players like that now how actually take the game by the neck and dictate the speed and direction of play

Athletes are great until athleticism isn’t enough

we did seem much slower in this game compared to previous, which wouldn't have helped.

Leigh will have a more comfortable victory for the final
