I do think Nobby is overly loyal to his players BUT who can replace him? Cullen? Harrison?

I guess Cullen would be favourite, as England coach.

Much as there are some of Nobby's selections we disagree with, I'm still not convinced it would have made any difference to the results. I just don't think we have the players to compete at the same level as the Aussies & Kiwis...except for the occasional surprise result.

I concur Geoff. I think the way the tournament fixtures are structured leaves GB significantly disadvantaged and as you say we simply do not have sufficient players of international calibre. Injuries and withdrawls have certainly not helped. Sculthorpe, Cunningham and Graham would have been prominent tourists.

I also think some selections were poor. Higham should have been in the starting team let alone the squad. I would have also taken one from Calderwood/Gardener and I hate to admit it BUT I would have gambled on Briers and had him as a reserve to bring on if it was going badly.

Jimmy I would have said it if I thought it would happen. there is a nice interview with Shaun re GB in the WEP today and everything he says is spot on. Equally unlike a certain Mr Gould he argues it is not rocket science either. Win the play of the ball area and you win the game is what he emphasises.
