There are a few issues here...

Firstly; there is not a lot IL can do about it. If they say we can't use the pitch; then we can't. Short of holding the board hostage at gun point on Friday night; I can't see how he can force them to let us use the stadium.

DW has shown the true colours that all RL fans knew he had. Blue and white stripes with a big yellow streak running down the back. If he fronted up to the FA (which incidentally is an acronym for what they are worth) and told that we were going to play the game; what would they do - dock them points? I am sure there would be an uproar from both codes of rugby (and sport at large) if this was the case and under restriction of trade law it may even be illegal. The fact of the matter is that DW doesn't care about the RL now he no longer makes the majority profit.

It would be nice if we had our own stadium - however that would take at least 5 years to plan and build - not even considering how long it will take to raise the necessary funds.

Secondly - Sky are partly to blame for this. It is them and not the spineless, paper tiger that is the RFL that is refusing to let us change the fixture to Sunday. Doing so would disrupt their schedule and as they finance the league; they are being unnecessarily obstructive.

Hopefully the outcome of this shambles will be the following:

The morons at wendyball HQ will make sure that the fixtures don't clash next season.

Any fans that do go to both rugby and football will be so disgusted that they will stop going

The lactics will be relegated and it won't be a factor in future!

The club can tell the RFL we play at the JJB or nothing and I imaginr the RFL could do nothing about it as Wigan had earned it. The RFL would have to change the date then.

Does anyone know of an occasion when a RL team was allowed to move a fixture to suit themselves. Surely this must have happened at some point and would be a good argument for the club to use!!

They'd just move it to Bradford as per the rules.

I must admit I would chuckle if I was sat watching Latics on Saturday to see a load of rugby balls fly into the ground.

The soap dodgers over at Ye Olde Tree and Crown are having a field day with this. As I've said on their Forum, I follow them every week, and the constant playground nonesense they come up with is hilarious. Not typical of all Latics fans I must add.

As for the match, it's a complete joke, and I'm definitely up for kicking a rugby ball or two in on Saturday, if only to see it on Match of the Day!

Won't be on MOTD - Latics never are.

I wonder what would happen if the workers were picketed at Welco ( Pools Pies at Pemberton)? We all know how the owner wouldn`t be able to sleep at night if his takings and production was down. Mind you knowing him he would probably lay off workers to balance the books.
