There are a few issues here...
Firstly; there is not a lot IL can do about it. If they say we can't use the pitch; then we can't. Short of holding the board hostage at gun point on Friday night; I can't see how he can force them to let us use the stadium.
DW has shown the true colours that all RL fans knew he had. Blue and white stripes with a big yellow streak running down the back. If he fronted up to the FA (which incidentally is an acronym for what they are worth) and told that we were going to play the game; what would they do - dock them points? I am sure there would be an uproar from both codes of rugby (and sport at large) if this was the case and under restriction of trade law it may even be illegal. The fact of the matter is that DW doesn't care about the RL now he no longer makes the majority profit.
It would be nice if we had our own stadium - however that would take at least 5 years to plan and build - not even considering how long it will take to raise the necessary funds.
Secondly - Sky are partly to blame for this. It is them and not the spineless, paper tiger that is the RFL that is refusing to let us change the fixture to Sunday. Doing so would disrupt their schedule and as they finance the league; they are being unnecessarily obstructive.
Hopefully the outcome of this shambles will be the following:
The morons at wendyball HQ will make sure that the fixtures don't clash next season.
Any fans that do go to both rugby and football will be so disgusted that they will stop going
The lactics will be relegated and it won't be a factor in future!
